When searching for a quality daycare in this economy for your littles you try to take into consideration what is going on around us, including different cultures, different view points and most of all to keep in mind to find a safe and nurturing center for your children. Upon me finding Kidstown I thought that with the teachers being able to speak both spanish and english in my tour that it would make a great contribution to my girls in the world we live in today. However for the past few months there has been teachers in the room that, you either don't know their names, they can't communicate with the english speaking parents, or simply, the staff is rude. I have called many parent-teacher conferences with this school, some of which were recorded, you realize the teachers and staff here expect trust and respect but do not want to give that back to the parents. My 3 year old who was formally diagnosed with autism was not given the correct accommodations and I was told in a parent teacher conference by the director, Ms Keily, that she was an imminent threat and danger to the children and staff one minute and then the next she says her behavior had improved since I got her a therapist to attend her class with her. Several reports were written about my daughter daily and simply me being a parent and wanting to ask questions about the reports led the staff to have an issue with me wanting to know more about what was actually being written rather than me just plop my signature on the paper without further information. Just yesterday when my daughter was picked up from school by her grandmother, they had an incident report written that states "at lunch time she did not want to sit down, she started running around the classroom, then she left the classroom to another area and the teacher went to look for her." which this is now the second time my child was able to just leave the classroom without a teacher knowing where she was. The first time, she left the classroom with another student, went into the bathroom stall and locked themselves in the stall and the staff had to await a key to get them out *the bathroom stalls are exactly like a middle school and highschool, they do not do not require keys*, but still this shows that there is a lack of supervision going on in this school. As a parent reading another report of my daughter having to be looked for it raised some concern, I then called the daycare as I am home sick with the flu and tried to be nice and tell them I had some concerns as a parent reading verbatim of what the report had said, Ms Lily then huffed and said "oh my god your changing what happened". In response to the phone call and the disrespectful 'oh my god' that I received from this administrative person I texted in the remind app to have it documented for my protection, however while I picked my daughter up today they had a letter stating my daughters services were terminated due to me not respecting their staff. I just want to leave it at this, Kidstown Admin if you are reading this I only wish the best for you all and hope that your staff can start to give the same respect and trust to parents that you expect for your staff. read more
