Although I play badminton and, occasionally, volleyball, I can't call myself an athlete. I just play sports as a hobby or whenever my previous bosses required me to join our company's sports fest. When I was growing up, my family did not exactly encourage me to excel in sports. My dad was more interested in pinning academic medals on my chest than receiving sports trophies.
Now that I have a young nephew, I want things to be different for him. I want him to pursue things he's interested in, without sacrificing his education. I know it's a bit early for me to think about this because he's only one year old. Nevertheless, I think he's showing interest in both music and sports.
