I am happy and I am sad at the same time because my son has to leave the school to go onto kindergarten. I Love and will miss this daycare. If you are looking for a daycare for your child, Then I want you to look no further. I want you to sign your child up to the Budd Lake Location. My son has attended. 2 daycare centers in Hackettstown neither one of them worked out until he came to the Little Learning Academy. In my experience, I have only had one teacher who I adored but in this school, I adore every teacher. It is rare that you come across a daycare where every teacher is trained and is uniquely skilled in their own way but together they are a perfect match for the children. They are highly equipped to deal with every behavior challenge as well as providing a safe and loving environment for the children. I can assure you your child is getting the best education and care. We used 4 different pre-schools/daycare over the years and none can compare to HHS. The center is family owned and the owners are very caring and conscientious. They worked through any issues the kids may have had instead of making it our problem. For example, my son could never fall asleep during naps, the staff would let him work on quiet projects instead of making him lay there and be board. There were always fun themes and projects and the kids were supported in every way possible. Staff stay busy with the kids who were always engaged in projects, learning, and play unlike some other centers that build in time for teachers to socialize or smoke while the kids watch tv or nap. Overall, the center is a very special place in an age where good preschools are hard to find! Highly recommend!

I was informed that they will no longer offer aftercare services. They do not heat up childrens meals and do not offer a program for meals to be purchased. They are a nationally accredited, non-profit daycare that is also working with the United Way. I was very surprised by the amount of tuition (on the pricey end for me with 2 kids) and I was overwhelmed with the amount of paper on the walls. Every where I looked there was some notice, poster, picture, craft, posting on the walls and I am not sure how anyone can find anything like that. The kids seemed happy and well tended to.

Head teacher Loretta claims to have been running school for "30 plus years." A couple of my issues…read morewith her are 1) she says she had to write up a report due to my son hitting someone or pulling hair. I have NEVER seen one of these reports and he has attended almost a year. 2) she strapped my son to a high chair to get him to stop Running around. 3) she said she went over every behavioral need that he needed though we never once had one meeting about my son to figure out a game plan. 2) my child is very active and doesn't want to sit around doing circle time or coloring or dancing he always has to be doing something. These girls (who are not trained only like 2 of them have been there a couple years) don't wanna deal with a child like that. 3)my son was always left to the side. I've had to leave work early, or not go in at all because he was "acting up" EVEN THOUGH he hugged every child on that playground before he left to go home with me. 4)Loretta tells me at 4:30pm in the middle of the week that my son is no longer wanted at her school and she wants him out. She said "were asking he doesn't come in tomorrow... three teachers of mine quit because of your son I'm Not going to jeopardize my business because of one kid" because of this I now sit home everyday and have lost my job due to no child care because every other daycare I have called is full. Minus the attitude from staff (who's children attend the school as well) and the "head owner" Loretta there are 20 plus minutes of wait time when you text that you're here for your child. Or there are multiple clothing articles that I have not received back OR I have gotten by mistake every day AND asked on my personal time to DRIVE to the school to return said articles of clothing to the right parent!!!! Are you serious?. With that being said.... Thank you Loretta you knew my situation when I came to you and assured me that you "work with children" you don't "give up." Bull SHIT and a big fuck you.

One of the standout features is the dual-language immersion--he's been exposed to both languages from day one, and we are already seeing such confidence and natural fluency in him. The teachers, Emily and others are caring, intentionally engaged, and truly understand early childhood development. They make learning fun--not just rote drills--but playful, meaningful experiences designed to spark curiosity, communication, and cultural awareness. The day‐to‐day environment is warm, welcoming, and well-organized. We feel so comfortable dropping off our son knowing he is safe, valued, and thriving. Another highlight is how the program scaffolds growth: starting from language exposure, moving into structured activities, social interaction, and preparation for the next steps in his education. We've seen big strides in his vocabulary, listening skills, and ability to switch between languages seamlessly. In addition, the school's philosophy around social‐emotional development, diversity, and parent partnership is very strong. We appreciate how the staff takes the time to keep us updated with progress, share moments from the classroom, and involve us in the journey. If you are searching for a preschool that offers more than the basics--one that truly invests in bilingual language development, personalized growth, and a joyful community--this school is a fantastic choice. We highly recommend it and look forward to continuing our son's journey here!

I'm a nanny, and I can't say enough good things about this school…read more From the minute u walk in you get a warm and fuzzy feeling. It's not the sterile environment I saw in many other preschools. The kids all seem happy and content, that's a biggie. The owner, though I only met her once, was very caring, accommodating and capable. The teachers and assistants my little charge had were wonderful. Mrs R. especially. They thought the basics with love and a firm hand when needed. I particularly liked the gentle emphasis they put on respect and obedience. I also did not notice any favoritism on the part of any teachers, not an easy thing to do in this line of work. There were lots of extracurricular activities and field trips, holiday parties etc...where parent participating was encouraged, and indeed many of the parents got to know each other well. On the whole it really felt like an extended family. I wish I could have sent my kids here , 20 yrs ago, but I couldn't even get on the waiting list, they had no room! This place has been around a very long time, and always had a great reputation. I really feel it's the next best thing to home!
