Your search is over- you have found the perfect daycare & nursery school for your child…read more My son first started in the infant room, and it has been the best experience that I could imagine. The entire staff is the equivalent to real life Disney fairy godmothers. They are magical. So professional, incredibly caring and warm from the start. From the moment I inquired online with Cadence Academy, in less than 24 hours our relationship began. Kaitlyn, the director, personally called me, and after 45 minutes on the phone, feeling like we were long lost friends reconnecting, the weight of finding the perfect place for my son was lifted. (Her daughter attends, so that right there was reassurance that Cadence Academy is the top choice for even a professional) I was called back to work in the middle of the summer of 2020, the PANDEMIC. Kaitlyn and her incredible staff made me feel so comfortable while I couldn't physically tour any of the classrooms, or walk inside the building, their descriptions, virtual tours, and phone calls reassured me completely. The Covid protocols were strict and thorough- with daily temperature checks for each student, mandatory masks, and extra sanitizing steps- it is extremely clean that I never felt overly nervous. Within the first week my son attended for three days, he came home waving, clapping and saying "bye-bye" at 11 months old. The next week he was saying "ut oh" and signing for milk (I had practiced signing at home and let them know my goals- and within two weeks of being at the academy -he was signing back!) Now at almost a year and a half he has an extensive vocabulary and signing skills to communicate! All thanks to the incredible teachers and socialization with other babies. The first few weeks I was a naturally worried mom- between the live updated app they use showing each meal, how much he ate and how much milk he drank, how long he napped, to every dirty to clean diaper- to photos of their daily activities- it reassured me he was in the perfect hands. I would call to check in, and every time I did I never ever felt rushed off the phone- Miss Taryn (who my son calls mama and immediately reaches for when we arrive each morning) would take the time and tell me how James' day was going and what he was learning. Even though I would hear a busy room in the background, she never rushed me off the phone and let me ask all of the questions. I felt at ease. She truly is doing what she is meant to do- be with babies and teach! My son had an immediate and special bond with Miss Taryn- that naps were no problem napping away from home (which is any mom's biggest fear who has gone through sleep training and has a perfect sleeper- sleep and daycare! They are amazing at getting your baby to nap) Meghan, the assistant director, is the most warm and calming soul I have ever came across. She is the perfect face of the academy, taking care of the daily protocols and payments. Anything you need or any question you may have- she is literally two rings away, or your emailed is answered within minutes. Hannah, is the coolest and the most down to earth, who again makes you feel so comfortable leaving your child when/if he cries come Monday when you first leave. And mind you- she is the funniest- best personality. Look no further, this is the spot not only for you to feel at ease that your child is in the best care, but also the best place for your child to grow (and eat very well!)

We were planning on sending two of our children to this center to begin in the Fall of 2021. We…read moresubmitted a deposit to hold spots for a toddler and preschooler, with the understanding this center has a 6pm pick-up. We visited the center with our daughters to get them excited for attending their new school during a planned visit on a Friday afternoon. When we visited, the lead toddler teacher told us that the hours for toddlers were cut back and their closing time is now 5pm, but preschoolers still had a 6pm pick-up. As someone who works until close to 545pm daily, this schedule change is just not feasible with my work schedule. And while I reasonably understand some centers temporarily changed their hours due to Covid, we were clearly told during our visit that Toddlers may never revert back to the agreed upon 6pm pick-up time. The director was not at the center to confirm or deny this time change, but we assume the lead teacher who was left in charge was accurate in what she was telling us. We were very confused as to why we didn't hear from the director sooner given the impact of this change to working parents who also have a young elementary school child in an alternate school. As anyone in this situation knows, pick-ups can be very stressful and require very well thought-out planning based on working hours and locations, other children and their pick-up location and activities. It's often a game of dominos. We also don't have any family who can help us with daily pick-ups at an earlier time than planned. We stressed all weekend about what we were going to do in September. We ended up having to take Monday off to visit a few other centers that still had availability. During this time, we called Little Neighbors several times during working hours (I'm assuming they have caller ID) but no one answered our calls. We also sent multiple emails, but Little Neighbors changed their email address and didn't update it on their Facebook page. Once we figured out their new email address, we alerted Liz at Little Neighbors to the fact their contact information was incorrect online. That was over 2 weeks ago and as of the time of this review, their email address still has not been corrected, which makes it difficult for parents to get in touch with them to resolve any possible concerns, especially when they didn't answer the phone when we repeatedly called. When we finally got in touch with the owner, Liz, at Little Neighbors and explained that we would be needing to send our children elsewhere due to the hours change, she refused to refund our deposit. I could certainly understand this if we simply changed our minds, but this is terrible and really poor business practice given the material change to our agreement. Daycare is intended to make it possible for working parents to work - if the hours of a daycare center don't allow working parents to be at their jobs in order to pay for the hefty weekly tuition, it's not a fit for that family. And changing the hours and expecting parents to just make it work isn't reasonable. To make matters worse, Liz's response to my last email was "you'll hear from our lawyer" - what!? You changed a material part of our contract and you're threatening a lawyer!? Luckily, there were other centers in the area who were much more responsive and also offered pick-up times after 5pm.

Emilson charges $115 for a family membership - that's up to five people in a single household. They've got indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna and a steam room, a spin studio, basketball and volleyball drop-ins, free group exercise programs, FREE BABYSITTING, a decent snack bar, a friggin' Sky Trail (think a four-story vertical obstacle course on a track), and more. These sort of amenities make for a huge draw, and subsequently, peak hour crowds. "Someone was putting mascara on in the bathroom." What can I say? Saturdays get crazy for me. It's no Equinox in amenities or exclusivity, but it's near perfect for us.
