The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The selection is varied - but always eclectic, cool, high quality and they seem to specialize in mid century on the furniture. The prices can be high - especially on their furniture - but the pieces are consistently high quality and functional. So from that perspective - it is good value to find quality pieces in excellent condition from whatever era the pieces hail. Having said that, we have found some real steals through the years here too. The consistent quality is what brings us back time after time.

Anyway, Dark Star is the real deal. This isn't a store that's just trying to cash in on new age. I've bought my fair share of incense, crystals, and beads here over the years. The selection of all of these items is VAST for such a little shop, and the prices are fair. There is also a hodgepodge of other items such as salves, books, apparel, hoops, and greeting cards. I always pop into the store just to browse but always wind up purchasing something. I'm so happy Dark Star is a part of the Block Street neighborhood and hope they continue to be there for many more years.

The store tag stated 90's vintage crew neck cardigan. I purchased the sweater for $46. Later I found a small tag in the sweater that said Target 2016. Totally not vintage. These gals are scammers. I would doubt much of there merch is actually vintage. It's a shame. I could have returned the sweater but didn't want to go back into their store. Thankfully I love my 2016 "vintage" cardigan that was probably originally $30 which I paid $46 for.
