With each question, Dr. Lucien has an answer that is direct, to the point, and usually puts us right at ease. He did the aforementioned circumcision, and he has administered all our babe's vaccine shots. His office staff is pretty swell as well. They always greet us with smiles and have patience when accidents happen, like our little man dropping a massive poo seconds before he is to be weighed. Dr. Lucien was recommended to us by family friends with kids and we will in turn be recommending him to other new parents. I had a lot of qualities that the Doctor would need to possess and needless to say Dr. Allen went way above and beyond. My son was born woth a rare genetic disease which did not really take full effect until his second birthday. Dr. allen was able to see he was showing signs of delay very early on and referred us to the early start program. He was so kind as to encourage us with a message of hope that we would help Finn overcome his challenges. He was able to supply us with healthier options for teething issues, as well as, giving us advice on sleeping and preventing fevers. Dr. Allen helped us navigate the devastating turn shortly after my son's second birthday. After a two month stay at Lucille Packard Children's Hospital, our first stop was to see Dr. Allen. He was very quick to help build back up the encouragement that Finn is going to do exactly what Finn is going to do. Dr. Allen has given us a deeper insight on labs and diagnosis, he has been wonderul at giving us supplements to help combat the side effects for the nasty medication he needs to be on and hes helped with pain management. He has also given us so much help when we have emergency hospital visits. He has supported mothers intuition (which has been right thus far) he has referred us to compassionate specialists. I've waited a few weeks to write this review- I wanted to make sure I wasn't coming from an angry…read moreplace I brought my daughter (16yr old) To see Dr. Allen because of high sugar levels/borderline diabetes in October. We are a family that eats very healthy; no seed oils, everything organic, very minimal sugar. No sodas, no processed or boxed food. Nothing microwaved. My daughter is very active in sports, she runs and weight lifts on weekly basis- yet has a very hard time loosing a single pound. We don't eat out, no fast food. So the high sugar levels and extremely low iron levels puzzled me. Thinking something in her gut needs to be fixed, or her thyroid is out of order. I had a handful of tests that I've already had Kaiser order and brought those to the appointment. To my surprise, the doctor didn't order new tests, didn't suggest new tests, and hardly reviewed the tests Several times he asked her if she was stressed. Several times- as if to have her change her mind. My daughter said she stresses over school- but nothing out of the originally and nothing on the extreme levels. The push was for stress lotions and his own vitamins that was created by him and his office. I was hoping he would do an exam on her, maybe to see if her glens were swollen, or look at her tongue- none of that done He spent an hour with us... and brought in a box of vitamins and lotions. My mistake was buying everything he suggested. We even paid for a bottle of vitamins that they didn't have in stock- but promised to send them in the mail. I had to call 3 weeks after the appointment and they forgot to send us the items we paid for. Office is disorganized. They did apologize for the mistake- but I should not have had to call to look for the vitamins weeks later after paying for them. I carefully chose this place, because he is an MD and practices holistic care and because of the yelp reviews. But it was my mistake In choosing this practice- because all he wants to do is upsell his own vitamins and lotions and not recommend anything else. In the end, the specialty that diagnosed her problem was the referral that he didn't want to send. One of the times when we were in the PICU with our daughter, he came in and told us we should stop using her home pulse ox on her foot. I truly believe that thing saved her and actually ended up providing helpful information as she was aspirating and would drop into the 70's in her sleep. What a truly inappropriate time to even bring that up to very scared parents. We have since been into the office for an unrelated issue with the NP. There was concern of possible strep. A rapid swab was done as well as throat culture but the culture was never sent. I sent the provider 2 messages to follow up and she never responded. Super frustrating experience.

She , (Debra. P.A.) on multiple occasions, tried explaining to us, that she would 'manipulate the "coding" so that the charges they were submitting to BLUE CROSS insurance would reflect some made up reason for a non-existent diagnosis that would get them to cover these treatments, 100%!. We didn't quite understand what Debra was telling us at the time. It never felt quite right with us. It almost felt fraudulent, it felt suspect and even shady and is the primary reason that both my partner and I left INTEGRATED CARE and went elsewhere for continued treatments. They, usually "Debra", on multiple occasions, told us, there's just some sort of "lag time"in payments from BlueCross-CA. Eventually, when the unpaid balance was becoming so large and 100%, unpaid. We both felt very uncomfortable about it and discontinued with treatments at IntegratedCare, regardless of the multiple conversations with them assuring us "not to worry" is just some kind of office error. They assured us both, that "eventually, the entire bill would be covered and to "just toss the invoices into the trash". They even kept incurrageing my partner to keep coming for the weekly treatments. All the while, his balance kept growing bigger and bigger. Apparently, the information and instructions that they were telling us? They were either inaccurate or possibly just a plain lies. They made mentions on telling, possibly fabricated information to the BlueCross, so why would I trust them to be honest with us? Over the past year, we are still today getting monthly statements today more than a year later. The stressful PAST DUE OR GOING INTO COLLECTIONS letters start coming in with a past due balance of $7,292.78 ! After numerous attempts to resolve and numerous promises that there no need to worry. Why couldn't they just be honest with us in the beginning or at anytime? Why would they encourage us to continue with weekly Spravato treatments for nearly 8 mos. Why wouldn't they inform us that the insurance was not paying their "bogusly coded charges"? while no payments were being approved by insurance? They never bothered to mention anything about it to us. What kind of business does that anyway? WHERE ELSE WOULD A PRIVATELY OWNED CLINIC CONTINUE PROVIDING "UNPAID" SERVICES FOR 7 MOS? ZERO payments received !! It ridiculous to imagine any medical, "niche" clinic to allow this kind of practice..The charges were more than my partners total income at that time !Over one year later, the obnoxious and bogus past due notices keep on coming on the first week of every month, showing still, no payments made. When you have known someone for 15 years, you don't shy away from answering how everything is going, as you don't think that you will be taken advantage of by answering this question. Meanwhile, Dr. Hawkins is seeing $$ as she is coding everything you discuss for extra money. Then, you receive surprise bills for multiple visits during the same visit, same time slot, same ten minutes. Very unfortunate to see a doctor who was great and (seemingly) caring turn to this.
