I cannot begin to express my gratitude to Annastasia. I was fortunate to find her, see her artwork and sit in her chair. I have two completed tattoos and slots booked for more. Annastasia is the artist that will take your ideas and transform them into something better than your imagination can describe. I have no words for her tattoo portraits other than you need see her portfolio to understand. Jaw dropping at best. I was happy each time I visited and felt I recieved my money's worth. Annastasia has an awesome tableside manner and is funny as hell. People often forget what artists are worth and clearly do not understand or respect basic business practices. Some hostile assclown left a negative review and after reading it the only thing that came to mind is that this person has never experienced a professional tattoo studio and simply did everything to avoid taking responsibility for his own screw up. STOP AND READ THIS FIRST!!! This couldn't have been a better first tattoo experience. Where to even begin! Went on yelp to research for a few places while on vacation in VA with my gf and Khaos Ink came up. There were good reviews and I chose it without knowing what to expect. I emailed the shop out and got an answer so fast regarding my idea for a tattoo. They stated they could see me that Sat as a walk in. Once I got to the shop, I immediately got good vibes. The decor looked amazing and we were greeted immediately. The wait was very minimal. Then we got to meet Ariel and Paula; they were fantastic!! Ariel took so much time and consideration showing me different interpretations of my idea to make it pop more than being flat and what he showed me looked phenomenal. Paula was so kind and supportive and genuinely happy to have us in the shop, making you feel as if you've been apart of their family all along. Once we determined the design and placement, Ariel had me check multiple times to ensure I liked it and I most certainly did. Before tattooing the design on me; he explained everything including, sanitation of all the equipment, what I should expect to feel, the process of inking the design, what he would be using throughout the tattoo, the differences between the machine and ink he would be using compared to what else is out there currently. Everything was super clean and organized and he was more than happy to answer all of my questions, no matter what I had come up. As the tattoo started, the way in which he tattooed made it nearly without any pain (they'll obviously be a little discomfort since it is a group of needles going into your skin) and even described the differences between the attachments he was using. He was very very personable, not leaving an awkward silence or giving a cold shoulder at anytime of the work he was doing. Once the tattoo was done, Paula and Ariel were very quick to share their excitement on the work he did and with good reason!!! Looking at the work on my arm and in the mirror; I can see why they've been around for almost 10 years. The color was perfect, the lines were straight on, and the numbers couldn't have come out better. They took the time to review all of the healing process with me letting me know multiple ways to ensure the tattoo heals properly and where to find the information on their site of the paper they gave me was lost. What more can I say about the shop and the both of them...I LOVE THEM. I live in Rhode Island and would gladly make the trip down to get another work of art from them. In fact I'm more than certain we'll be returning. If you need a touch up, getting new work done, getting your first tattoo like me, or getting your 100th tattoo; don't bother with any other place of any other state. Come here. Seriously. I don't think I've met a more perfect pair that shows the love of what they do like these two do. Their prices are not something you need a loan for especially based on how much time they take to make sure you're in an area that's well maintained, protected, and comfortable. I don't even know where to start, or how to express how pleased I am with the quality of work that Khaos produces ! Okay, so maybe I'll start from the very beginning. I had been In search of an artist since like 2015. Every shop I would go to would be pretty good work, but awful customer service. You ever feel that when you walk into a shop, they just stare at you like "wtf do you want" lol. Well that's what I felt everytime I walked into other shops, so everytime I would just walk my ass on out. I recently found Khaos Ink online. I don't even remember how I found them , but I am thrilled that I did. First off, customer service is on fuckin point ! When I called, Paula answered the phone and she legit was the sweetest person to talk to, super upbeat and extremely helpful In answering all my questions and listening to my ideas. She referred me to an artist named Ariel. I instantly felt comfortable talking to her and making a consultation with Ariel. Now fast forward..... I met with Ariel and all I had was and idea and a reference picture. I told him I wanted something completely original that complemented my body frame (I was getting a chest piece). We talked it over and I felt extremely comfortable with just leaving all the designing in his hands. I had seen his previous work before so I was confident he wouldn't disappoint me. Fast forward to my first appointment... when I saw what he had drawn up, I was blown tf away! Lol but seriously, this man is an ARTIST. He's not just some guy that can put a needle to some skin, he is a real life artist. He took my idea and executed it perfectly!. This piece came out to be sooo beautiful! Fyi: not only is Ariel an extremely talented artist, but he also has a great hand. I was damn near falling asleep during each one of my sessions lol. This shop is also VERY clean. You won't have to worry about getting some weird ass disease in here. EVERYTHING is wrapped in plastic and always sanitized. It's a shame this place isn't as popular as it should be. It should definitely be the first thing to pop up when you Google " Badass tattoo artists in Virginia " lol. I've also had the chance to see the other two artist work, Paula and Anatasia. Certified badass badge goes to those two women also! I love the artistry of tattoos, so it's incredible when you see all these amazing artist with different styles come together to make a versatile shop with with quality art. I got my first tattoo here in 2011, Kris did it and then added to it later. I then got another by Ariel. Both times I've been they have been helpful and willing to work out payments. They are knowledgeable and I have asked them for lots of advice. They have a really clean shop and my tattoo's from them have healed really fast and look amazing. Both of them are amazing artist and if you got to them tell them what you want with an example picture or something they will take it and make you one the most creative tattoo's you could have imagined. If this is your first tattoo I really recommend them because they make sure you know what you're getting into and realize that this is going to be on your body for the rest of your life. So, Saturday I went in search of a shop that would take a walk-in. What I wanted wasn't complicated or time consuming. I found Khaos online and they had received good reviews. Looking back at the reviews now I realize that a lot of the artists that were reviewed aren't there anymore. Paula helped me and was very friendly. I was just having two tattoos redone (Khaos didn't do them originally) They were a simple cross and paw print. Then I had one other small Iris flower done on my wrist. After removing the bandages this morning I realized that the cross is crooked on the bottom (not how it was previously), and the Iris looks like a child's drawing. The colors are awesome but the tattoo isn't. Granted I asked for a water color tattoo and I know that's a fairly new technique but if she couldn't do it I think she should have said that. In addition, my understanding of the cost of everything was much lower than what the total ended up being. Even considering the $60 sitting fee she only had to redo 2 of the tattoos and the other is small. I left with a $294.00 bill. Needless to say it was an expensive lesson. I will not be returning to Khaos and I will now be looking for someone to fix my tattoos. :( read more

So I drove two hours to this shop, paid $60 to make an appointment for 3 weeks later and felt pretty good about it. Excited for my first tattoo. Then I found out there was going to be a hurricane going over my town. So several days in advance I call during business hours and leave a voicemail. I also send an email the next day. Called again the day before my appointment but no one answered. Never heard back. No call and no email or anything. $60 gone. Don't really know what to do. I don't think I could get refund and I'm not brave enough to drive up there and demand one. Even though my appointment has passed I still wish someone would return any of my messages. They have my contact information. Update: a week after my missed appointment I received an email saying they never got my messages. They offered to let me reschedule. I decided to save my money but I appreciate them contacting me. read more
