The place was decorated for the holidays Placed a large order for take out, they advised it would be 15-20 min but it was ready to go in 10 mins. Sweet Thai chicken poppers will always be my favourite! They aren't always on the menu so you have to ask. The gravy, coleslaw, fries and biscuits were all delicious. The best part of their true chicken is that it isn't too oily nor is it too salty. It's delicious! Overall, everyone enjoyed it including the children.

My brother picked up some fried chicken, taters, macaroni and cheese salad, gravy and strawberry cream cheese pies for us and overall everything was great. We've had Mary Brown's chicken before at a few different locations and this location has the best taters! They really batter them and they were crispy and flavourful. They were also mostly small, which I like, I don't like the huge wedges that are all mealy. None of the pieces I ate were mealy, they were all delicious. The chicken was also delicious. Crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. He got us both the spicy chicken and the regular non-spicy chicken. Both were delicious and the spicy was actually spicy, which I liked. It had a nice kick to it. The gravy was nice and thick but too salty for my liking. The macaroni and cheese salad was a flop with my nieces, they didn't like it at all, lol. They thought it was too sour. I'm not a huge fan of macaroni salad to begin with, so I wasn't crazy about it either, but my husband loved it. The strawberry cream cheese pies were ok. They remind me of the pies from Popeye's and Harvey's. My nieces liked the pies, lol. We got a free Mary Brown's can cozie with our meal. I like Mary Brown's and I think this location does it justice with the chicken and the taters, which is really the most important part. I'm a fan! Lots of free parking in the Fallingbrook Shopping Centre parking lot.

Ok, by now maybe you know that Mary Browns is a chain our of Newfoundland, so I had to try this at least once. I never ever eat breaded and friend chicken; honestly, KFC is good enough! What can I say? I was hungry!! But I love Newfoundland, and I want to know how this compares!! Also to note: there was a lot of staff behind the counter, so things seemed to move fairly quickly. Oh and I saved something for next time: they have introduced banana pudding!! Sorry for the drool marks on this review... Two meal deals included drinks and coleslaw for, $28.00. I will update my review after I taste all this for the first time. My stomach is sincerely grumbling!! UPDATE: oh man, was this ever good! The chicken was juicy and tender, the coating was perfect! The fries were wedgies and already coated and flavoured, so we didn't add salt or ketchup. The coleslaw was so good that all they needed to do was give bigger portions! Delish!! Definitely deserves a 5-star!! Will return. Also fixed the spelling. Predictive text, my keister!

They have long been advertising "plumper chicken" and for me that meant they left the fat on the chicken then cooked it. Gross! There is nothing like chomping down on chicken fat, cooked or raw. Eww! But now they have revamped their menu as well as the decor, and I must say they have raised the bar on themselves and surpassed it! Well done, St Hubert! First of all, I must admit that I have never been to the St Joseph Blvd location before today. But as crowded as it was, the service was fabulous today. The wait staff was very attentive without hovering over us (even though they were all fairly on the young side). The food was great - the waitress even described it well, declaring which dishes were spicy or not. And I also have to admit that I do love their cole slaw -both the creamy one and the vinegary one. My friend and I ordered the sweet potato fries as an appetizer; we were both pleasantly surprised at how tasty they were! The dipping sauce was NOT as spicy as we thought it might be. For our main course, we both got the chicken with Spanish rice and vegetables (she got white meat and I got dark meat). The rice was spicy enough to make my nose run! The veggies were only ok. I do love yellow and red peppers! And then to round off the celebration, we each had desert: she had the strawberry shortcake, and I had the chocolate lava volcano. Awesome to the last drop! We are both very full. And very impressed with our meals! Today's experience most certainly invites another visit! Very pleasant, indeed!

We ordered food from there for lunch one day. No one in my family (other than my husband and I) had had Mary Brown's Chicken before so we got a variety of items to try. We got some mild fried chicken, some spicy fried chicken, potato wedges, onion rings, gravy, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese salad. We also got a box of 5 chicken tenders with fries for my little nieces to share, but I wasn't able to get a picture because they were hungry, lol ;) It was my first time having the spicy fried chicken and it looked to me like they just sprinkle spices on top of the regular fried chicken after frying. It was ok, but the spices were definitely not well distributed. It's also not all that spicy. The chicken at Mary Brown's is similar in style to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), as opposed to Popeye's Chicken. It's less salty than KFC I find. The potato wedge were a bit bland, but tasted great with the gravy poured on top, lol. They are lightly battered. The onion rings were crispy and great. I had some leftover fries from my nieces. The fries aren't battered like the wedges. They were good as well. They are just regular-cut fries, not shoestring, but not beefsteak/thick cut. The macaroni and cheese salad was too rich and creamy for my tastes, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. I didn't try the coleslaw because I generally don't like coleslaw and especially not creamy coleslaw. The gravy was nice and thick and full of chicken flavour. My dad's assessment was "better than KFC, but not as good as Popeye's" lol. I don't know if I agree. I really like Mary Brown's and I like that it's a Canadian chain (it's from out East). Besides, I think all fried chicken places can coexist, since they all offer something a bit different :) This Mary Brown's Chicken is in the Orleans Gardens Shopping Centre (which is really a plaza, not an enclosed shopping centre). There's lots of free parking in the plaza.

These days, you can only get St. Hubert in the frozen food section in the GTA. As luck would have it, I came across this St. Hubert location driving to my hotel to check in. I made a mental note and came here for dinner on my first full day in Ottawa. I parked. There was lots of parking. This location also has a drive-thru. I walked in. As an express eatery, I saw lots of trays with napkins, cutlery, and beverage cups all arranged on multiple trays on the counter. I liked that this place was so organized. It felt like an assembly line! I find that a hot chicken sandwich to be my comfort food at any rotisserie joint. I ordered it here. You have a choice between the original (vinegar) or creamy coleslaw. I went with the former. It also comes with a fountain drink. I paid using a credit card. I got a cup and went to use the fancy beverage machine to dispense some Diet Coke. There was a huge sign that said that you can't do refills. I wasn't thinking of doing that, but I suppose that folks have abused the pop system. As soon as I chose a table to sit down and also put my drink on the table, my meal was ready. I like this express thing! I thanked the woman who gave me my tray of food. I walked back to my table to chow down. My chicken sandwich was delicious. I liked the huge chunks of meat, both white and dark. The gravy was yummy. The original coleslaw was light and crunchy. I don't like highly vinegary coleslaw. It was perfect here. Staff are friendly and competent. They were great. I enjoyed having dinner here. It was cheap, comforting, and tasty. I'm not sure why the ratings are low here. If I had this eatery in my area, I'd gladly ditch going to the major burger fast-food joints for St Hubert. (234)
