Great place to stop while traveling on the highway in Czech Republic heading towards Hungry…read more Super clean all thru the McDonald's. Employees walking around picking up. CLEAN and free bathrooms! McDonald's in Czech is more of a coffee shop and nicer fast food than it is in the United States. Very impressed! They have a separate coffee counter called the McCafe where you can get treats and coffee. There is another counter where you can order your usual burgers, fries, etc.

The baklava was thickly spiced with slight bitter notes, thick honey. It wasn't a dainty baklava. These are housemade, so they are slightly inconsistent day by day. The pohaca had great layered texture, some black sesame sprinkled on top, with a buttery burnt bottom and surprising feta inside. They specialize in Azerbaijani cuisine and offer several entrees and durum. One night I also enjoyed baklava, sekerpare, and bülbül yuvası. On my last visit, I made sure I was hungry enough to eat their durum. That was also quite good. I really wish I could return there right now.

The staff will sit you down with a smile, the spaces are clean and appealing. BUT! If you do not order fast enough, the smile of the waiters turns into a spasm to make the order quicker. Our meals were yummy, no complaints here. I would recommend everyone to try their Eggs Benedict. But what I considered very rude was the fact, the waitress placed the reservation card on our table before we finished our meals. Without saying a word. The reservation was in half an hour since that time. We noticed it was a common practice. We didn´t order coffee, quickly paid and left. No reason to come back again. There are better and friendlier places to eat in Podebrady.
