The food here while Imbiss can compete with any restaurant, I eat out a lot for work and do NOT give 5 stars often, but I am giving it here, just like all the other people who reviewed this place. Went here first Germany visit back in January 2014; this visit in July 2014 went 3 times. On the first visit in July the owner recognized me from the January visit, wow 6 month who knows how many customers and he recognizes me :). From my 3 meals there all were good BUT the rotisserie chicken I had was probably the best I had since living in Germany 35 years, yes years ago! The skin was perfectly roasted NOT the least bit soggy; but the meat was so moist and tender. The cucumber salad with oil and vinegar dressing had great taste, wish my dressing be like that when I make it. :( According to the owner all the recipes are made by his wife, who I did not meet. None of the so called "German" restaurant foods I have eaten throughout the US even come anywhere close to this Imbiss place. Only have 2 complaints.... why can't this place be in New York?? :( and as everything is so GOOD the biggest challenge is what to order :) Can't wait to eat here again on next Germany visit! :) For all the lucky locals go enjoy this place!!! :)

I don't wish to rain on the parade of the previous five star reviews....but I think we need it get…read morea little perspective on freddys.....firstly, this is a tiny tiny little take out with no tables or chairs.....it has stand up "dining" for maybe three average adults and the food, whilst certainly not bad, is nothing more than standard fare......we went to freddys on yelps recommendation and actually stayed and ate against my better judgement. I am all for cheap and cheerful, but please give me a break.....I hadnt read all the reviews , but I certainly read some before I went and they are not a fair gauge of the quality of the food or the establishment.....two stars and yes, the chicken was nice.....

We all arrived before the event started, and we're greeted quickly considering how busy the place was getting. The restaurant itself has a fun vibe in my opinion, with much Australian themed decor. It was cozy at our table and not crowded given how many groups were there to play the trivia. My friend and I split an order of 18 wings and a side of sweet potato fries. We got three different styles, American bbq, Mexican, and German. All were very good in their own way, but surprisingly I liked the German style the best. It was sweet (honey mustard base) but refreshingly different as it was mixed with dill. I could just get a plate of those wings and be very happy. The sweet potato fries were also very good. They came out hot, fresh, and didn't need any extra sauce to enjoy them. As for drinks, I got the Felix felicies (it was Harry Potter themed trivia), which was sparkling wine mixed with ginger beer and a lime. It was quite refreshing and I enjoyed it so much that I had two (though they did not bring me any luck with the trivia). I would love to come back here another time to just enjoy some drinks and food with friends. The trivia was extremely fun and made us really think that evening, but I'd say it went about an hour too long. As working adults, being at the bar until 10:15 when the trivia ends, waiting until 10:45 to pay (because they card readers broke), and then not getting home until 11:30 or later makes getting up at 6 the next morning difficult. Three hours of trivia seemed like a lot compared to other trivias I've attended, but it was still fun all the same. I highly recommend this place. And be sure to come during one of their specials nights!
