The only thing I come here for, and will continue to do, are the chips. As a potato freak, I've tried and never repeated ordering the potato cakes, as they were soggy and drowned in chicken salt, however the simple chip is where this place had me. I would often grab a large bag, to ensure my order was cooked fresh, and found them to be fantastic. On a recent trip there I got my usual order of fried potato, and must say that they'd slipped a little in terms of flavour, crunch and freshness. Whether it was a bad day or new management, I've jumped ship and taken my business to the Fish & Chip shop over the road of late.

I've visited it a few times, both before and after the change and I can definitely give it the thumbs up now. They make a really good chicken schnitzel and while I am yet to have some, their salads look beautiful. They take phone orders but do not do take away. There are some stools inside the shop for people sit down and eat. If it wasn't so hot in there almost all the time it would be a nice place to sit. The stools line the window looking out and it is fun to watch all the people walking past. They have a pretty large range of drinks as well as the hot food and salads so make sure you grab one of those from the fridge. The service here is also really speedy, which is definitely a plus if you're on the way home from work and grabbing something for when you get home. No one wants to wait a long time and these guys seem to understand that. If you're after some chicken, you can't go past this store at Mountain Gate. It's pretty yummy!
