Once again, this is a pub that I had rarely visited namely because I never really came down this side of the city. In fact, despite the fact that I had grown up in Adelaide, the Southern part of the city still remains somewhat mysterious. As for this pub, well, yeah, it was okay, and had some decent beers. It seemed to be trying to be hipster, but then again this is Adelaide, and the Hipster spirit has still yet to arrive in the way that it has arrived in Melbourne.

However this is what I admire most about the fast food chain, there are no healthy fantasies in sight. Just like a chocolate bar doesn't pretend to be good for your teeth, a piece of fried chicken won't pretend to make you a supermodel. The one thing stopping the Eastwood KFC from being 5 stars for me is the occasional tendency to serve a really, really greasy piece of chicken. When it's so greasy the bottom of the box is just about see through. It doesn't happen often, but when it does you regret not getting a zinger burger instead, or wish you'd just gone home and made a salad.

The few tables and booths that were clean, had atrocious seats covered in spilt drink, abandoned chips and lonely leafs of lettuce. We had to ask staff to clean off a table and seating for us. The single female toilet was soiled, as was the floor. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that it isn't normally that filthy, sadly - I have to review them based on my personal experience and not what could have been. Food: I tried the new Milky Bar Krusher, and it was watery, not a big fan - generally I like the Krushers, but this one either hadn't been mixed properly or was simply, a dud. We ordered a boxed meal and the chicken came out hot and fresh, that is a plus, but alas, that is probably the only positive point I can give this meal. The Chicken pieces, including the popcorn chicken were all fresh. The Chips however, one of them came out cold and the other was old and tasted as though they had been sitting there for a few hours. Poor timing on our part I guess we got the last dregs of the chips as the people sat next to us looked to have a fresh batch. 16/12/2011 I…read moreactually really like KFC and go there at least once a fortnight. It's the typical chicken burger joint with the gravy and side snacks. It was the person who I was having lunch with that ruined it all for me. Talking to my Doctor best friend is like debating with an arrogant social worker...a barrage of criticisms, put-downs, insults so intense that I have fallen out of love for some Doctors who completely change from a nice friend to a bloody person I don't even know anymore. His red eyes, and constant insults is not my idea of a pleasant lunch date. He didn't teach me about what I can do to be healthier or anything medical at all. He doesn't act like anyone in Grey's Anatomy or House. In fact, what ever he says to me is an attempt to make feel less human or worthy. It's a terrible feeling. I'm not saying all doctors are like him, but if I'm going to put myself in his shoes, he probably has had a few rough days lately, so I'll forgive him easily for it. All I can do is be there for him. Putting all that aside and in the past, the chicken there is always great, and one to consider if you don't know what else to have for lunch! I will never argue with an age-old chicken recipe from America that has worked for so many decades, and still works today!

It's clean, there's plenty of parking and the staff are friendly enough - but it does get busy, so unless you've pre-ordered, you may have to wait. Thankfully there's also an IGA that's open until 8, so it's easy enough to swing in, place your order and do a little bit of shopping (mmm dessert).
