I highly recommend Michael of Keystone Therapies. Michael knows anatomy better than any other masseur or masseuse I've ever worked with. This helps him both with assessing your problem, and with treatment.
I first had back problems 14 years ago when I was working in California. I went to chiropractors and physiotherapists, and learned some exercises. I also started going to yoga. Collectively, all of these helped me a great deal.
However, few months ago, during a period of high stress and working at the computer, I got hit by a really intense bout of what my GP called "non-specific back pain". It's crazy how serious and debilitating this can be!
Michael is like a detective. He worked with me to figure out what was going on. Michael assessed my problem with a careful interview ahead of time. During treatment, he asked about the intensity of pain I felt in different places so that he hone in on the problem.
Furthermore, Michael has an amazing ability to loosen muscles without hammering on them. I am happy getting a hard massage, but sometimes can leave you sore. Michael knows how and where to work tight muscles so that they "release" without so much punishment. I felt a lot less "worked" than with some other masseurs, but the benefit was greater.
Michael gave me insight into what was going on. Not only did I feel much better after my sessions with him, but he recommended some exercises. I have changed my yoga practice because of what I learned from him.
That said, Michael is very cautious of his limitations. He is professional, caring, and considerate. read more
