The artists were very talented and very entertaining, one played the guitar and the Sax for different song requests. Don't go hungry, but don't be afraid to order some snacks for the table if you get hungry. For a quiet evening filled with decent piano covers, go to the 7 o'clock show. For a louder and rowdier show (in a hilarious way), make reservations for the 9 o'clock show. Trust me, there's a big difference. This was a great place to go for entertainment. The piano players were impressive and entertaining. If you are wanting a really good time make you show up early to get a close spot because that will really determine your overall night. If you sit further away you will feel not apart of the party. This could be a good or bad thing depending what you are looking for in your night. The drinks were good but wish the beer options were a little better but that is being really picky. For a large party (12 persons) with a weekend reservation fee, we weren't seated in that opportune of a place to watch the show (back corner by the bar/window) and they charged members of our group for the same tables three times even though my sister booked and paid ahead for all the seats. Yet the show was very fun with plenty of good energy. So for that reason I think Keys On Main is a worthwhile stop-- easily 3-plus stars. Maybe just not ideal to book for a party. The draught beers aren't much of a selection, but mostly local and regional craft beers, and at $6/pint a refreshingly fair price. The two large bars keep the libations flowing quite promptly and all the barkeeps were friendly. However several rounds of 'shots' drinks ($8-9 each) were mostly awful: poorly mixed and temperature not chilled well. The food quality is so-so and food service was glacially slow (over 90 minutes!). The round of nacho orders were clotted, slightly warm only, and unappetizing (ingredients thrown together in a box and not layered well together) even when served 'fresh.' Yet the buffalo wings were pretty tasty 'n' juicy (if not as spicy as I like), but baby carrots are a dull accompaniment compared to celery. The dessert (the Cookie Monster) was underbaked (still cookie dough in middle) and served with squirts of whipped cream, not the ice cream it was supposed to have. They told us the kitchen was understaffed, but that's not a good excuse for even ice cream not to be stocked. read more

Came here to listen to some tunes, But found a couple of dueling piano-dudes, Tried to find a seat, But so many locals had me beat. Nominated an old school jam, But someone else nominated WILL-I-AM. Went to the bar to get a drink, But the bartender was gone in a blink. Then I went to the bathroom, But had to come back in a zoom, My fav of the night was the tune from Eminem, And towards the end I called my Mum. It is a nifty niche. 3.5 for sure. Not my cup of tea, but I would highly suggest it for anyone else to check out. The girl singing and playing for the time I was there, you are awesome. The drinks are light but perhaps I just drink too much. If you like singing along and putting in requests for songs it can be entertaining. From what I could tell to really get your song played though you'd have to pay to hear what you want. While this can work well over a general evening, I doubt I'd sit just to wait. We paid the $5 cover and were able to find seats at a table. We enjoyed the music of the three performers for the night, but both us, 21 years old, agreed that this place was too *old* for us. There were a number of bachelor/bachelorette/birthday party groups. The songs being requested were from 1980s-early 2000s and honestly, we just weren't super into it. We also did not have the money available to request a song of our choice: in order to guarantee that your song request will be played, you need at least $10, preferably $20. That being said, the performers were very entertaining and did a good job of keeping the atmosphere lively. They are also very talented! The entertainers are not only extremely talented (the broad range of songs they can do is truly admirable) but they are funny as well. If you go on a weekend, I'd strongly recommend a reservation. My wife and I walked in and were allowed to pay the cover fee, but we could not find a place to sit. After getting frustrated and just about walked out, someone helped us find a free seat-but it was not a great location. There are lots of prime tables up front, and it's worth the extra effort to plan ahead and reserve one. Come with cash-you pay the performers to play your song, or you can pay to stop someone else's song. It gets very lively. read more

In this way, the experience of Keys on Main in SLC knits LDS sensibilities into the fabric of American culture, rather than standing outside of it in judgement. It is an olive branch and an invitation. It thus skates on the on cutting edge of evangelical Christianity in a unique, warm, and loving way, and I think it is an example of the American spirit of liberty and collaboration at its very best. Wow. I've experienced much better service. My significant other and I have been planning surprise date nights for each other and I chose Keys on Main because of his love of music. This was a first time for both of us and I was so excited to take him here, which ended up a bust. The doorman greeted us and took our ID's. When telling him we have a reservation under my name, he told me I was wrong because it was a private event that night. I showed him my email confirmation (attached below) and he rudely told me "Nope, not tonight!" Like, what the hell?
