PNC Bank Online banking has terrible Customer Service!!!!…read more I talked to 3 PNC bank phone reps during an hour-long call and the last one told me someone would give me a call in 24 to 48 hours and gave me a reference number of XX4187601018. It took PNC OVER 20 days to get back with me and the rep that called was condescending and dismissive Due to PNC Online Banks poor customer service, I was forced to move my banking to a Local Credit Union.

"You come in here with a skull full of mush and you leave thinking like a lawyer." ~ Professor…read moreKingsfield "The Paper Chase" I would change the above quote to say: "You come in here with a skull full of mush and you leave thinking like a banker." Unfortunately, I think many of the "Young Turks" who come and go out of this PNC branch, which seems like a training stop, leave with "brains full of mush." First off, some years ago my wife and I opened up a checking account & safety deposit box. We signed all the paperwork together and we are done. Some time much later I try to do an inquiry with a live representative on the phone but they won't talk to me, the account is in my wife's name. HUH? My name is on the online account, my name is on the checks but I'm not allowed to speak with a representative on the phone - security and all - I'm a non-person even if I supply my personal information including Social Security number. Next, I go to Hartville jewelers engaging in a transaction and leave with a nice check, head over to PNC, walk up to the teller window where a young man greets me. I hand over the signed check with the account number on the back and he blurts out - "WOW, what did you sell, some silver?" Say what? Is that any of your business or anyone elses in the bank? How unprofessional and I let him know about it. The teller was a new face as each time I've gone into that branch you never see the same people. Revolving door! Finally, my wife and I go to this branch to close our safety deposit box as it's now empty. A teller tells me I have to wait for a manager who is on break. Really? They're all "out to lunch" in my opinion. Said manager appears with a donut and crumbs around her mouth. Seriously, I couldn't make this up if I tried and I'm not. She starts to give me the third degree as to why we're closing the box. We don't require one anymore. Is that a sufficient answer? So I hand the key over, she pulls the box and inspects it. A medium sized safe deposit box is not very big but one would think she was inspecting Fort Knox. The manager turns towards us and tells us that's it. I ask for a receipt to ensure we don't get billed again stating the box is now closed. One would think I asked her for $100 out of her purse. Literally 10 minutes went by and the manager finally & reluctantly showed up with a receipt, handed it over without saying a word. RUDE in appearance as well. I own two small businesses, residential rentals, a small shop in Michigan and I know customer service and how to properly treat people. This PNC branch does indeed operate with "skulls full of mush." Even Professor Kingsfield couldn't help them. Two-Stars? The ATMs always work and I'm very good dealing with them. ;)
