Have had my account with them for 10 years, anytime anything has ever gone wrong they have gone out…read moreof their way to fix it. We lived in Germany for four of those 10 years, and while overseas, we never paid fees on ATMs or transactions. They kept up communication despite the fact that we were in a different country. Most banks make you pay fees for traveling and using your card. The only fee ever pay is a five dollar bill pay fee, and I only pay it if I don't pay 3 of my bills through the bill pay I set up. They have caught fraudulent charges on our account and contacted us within an hour of it happening. (Card numbers were stolen from an online store once and mass theft of info the second time) First bank contacted me, stopped the charges and reissued me a new card. Sure credit unions are great, but they have their issues too and quite frankly, most of these reviews are either petty complaints or from people who don't understand how banking works. I would go to no other bank. I only give 4 stars because I want to give them Room to improve. When shopping for a bank account, don't rely on angry people on yelp. Read other reviews from bankers, and people in the industry. Look at their policies and procedures, list of fees etc things that matter. Don't base that decision on a free toaster. Yes customer service is important but if you're an idiot who refuses to try and understand or just an ass hole, then you deserve what service you get.

I went to First Bank to get a cashier's check, and the clerk misspelled "services" twice. The third…read moretime, I trusted she had finally gotten it right and was doing her job properly. Nope. I delivered the check, only for the recipient to point out it was still misspelled. I went back to the bank to get it canceled and reissued, but the manager told me it was my responsibility to check. I explained that their employee had filled it out three times, and I reasonably assumed it was correct by the last attempt. It's not my fault they have incompetent employees.
