M&T Bank - It's usually MT

M&T Bank

It's time for you to MT your head and meditate about how bad these banks are. If they get robbed,…read morethey will merely remove the & sign, and become an "MT Bank". Talk about planning ahead. Despite my annoyance with the brand in general, and banks in general these days, this is a handy little bank location right on Transit Road, and I use it when I find myself in this part of town because I have an account with them. It's next to my Salad place and my MidEastern place, so I'm here often. And of course to one of my fave sub shops. I took Barbie to this location as you see, and she made it look better than it ever has. So M & T stands for Massive fees, and Taking my money. My previous review said: My patience is just about MT with these people. I come to this location mainly for the ATM on a fairly regular basis. I eat at Almaza, Greens, Jonny C's and Grill Kabob often, so I end up in here all the time. I have an account with M&T Bank but they are not my favorite. They charge me all kinds of weird fees, like for example if I get money transferred into my account. You think they would be happy about it but no. If it comes from another country the fee is enormous. If I don't use my account for a month they will take a fee. If I go into the red they take a nice healthy chunk. It's just ridiculous really. There was a time when Banks actually wanted you to bank with them, but now I guess they don't care because they figure that you have no choice. Will I have a choice, and I'm in the process of transferring everything to Chase because Chase aren't going to chase me down for every cent they can squeeze out of me. As far as I can tell. And neither do the little local credit unions, so that's what I recommend everybody do.

This branch is horrible. It's like they took the worst employee from every location and put them…read morehere. The incompetence of their employees is mind blowing. I come here once a year to deposit my kids bday checks and it's an ordeal every time. Last time I was here they stated my kids need to sign the checks to be deposited and I couldn't. (never have in 14 years) . When questioned on what would happen if I had a newborn baby with checks , the employee with a straight face stated, "the baby would have to squiggle their signature". After a quick laugh I completed my business. Once my CDs mature here will be going across the street to Northwest, where they are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. STAY AWAY from here.

This has been my mom's banking institution for... honestly, longer than anyone can remember. A very…read morelong time. Long enough that years ago she came home and announced, with complete confidence, "There's a girl at my bank who looks JUST LIKE YOU." Now, if you knew my mom, you'd know her powers of observation are... aspirational at best. She could see a barber pole and tell you it looks like someone she knows. So I filed this information away with a healthy dose of skepticism. Fast forward to modern times, where I now help manage a lot of her banking and have been coming into Summit regularly for about five years. I've met the supposed "look-alike" several times. Spoiler alert: she does not look like me. She's younger, taller, brunette, and shares exactly zero identifiable features with me. (My mom still insists. Recently she even tried to justify it by saying, "Well, she's lost some weight." I stared at her in silence until she realized what she'd just said and started laughing. So... there's that.) All that aside--this place is exceptional. Because of how warm, friendly, and genuinely "down-home" Summit feels, I eventually opened my own account here too, even though it's no longer convenient to our current location. And I will never close it. They know my mom the moment she walks in. When she fumbles for her ID, they let it slide because they truly know her. They ask how she's doing, remember details about her life, and treat her with patience, kindness, and respect. When I was buying a house, they gathered around to look at pictures, oohing and aahhhing in all the right places like proud friends--not just tellers behind a counter. This is one of those rare places where you feel seen and remembered. You matter here. And as a bonus? My alleged "look-alike" is also an avid reader, so we often end up chatting about books while I'm there--which somehow feels exactly right for a place like this. Exceptional service. Exceptional people. Completely worth going out of your way for.

Forget the bank go here. Rates are so reasonable and very much lower than a normal bank. Everyone…read morethere is very nice and helpful. The only bad thing is two people could not figure out my app and why I couldn't connect other than that, I absolutely recommend this credit union for all your needs.
