I visited Key West Treasure Chest on a cruise 5 years ago. I bought a sterling silver compass rose necklace and wore it nearly every day for the next 5 years. The necklace held up really well, and aside from cleaning it every once and a while I did hardly anything to take care of it. After 5 years, I wasn't sick of it, but I took it off one evening and couldn't find it after that (I believe it fell prey to my dog :( ). I wasn't really interested in a different necklace, I just wanted the same one I'd worn for ages. I reached out to the shop via Facebook with little expectation that anything would come of it. The shop owner, Sherry, was extremely helpful, and had her colleague Gerry send me photos of the pendant to make sure it was the same one. They shipped it quickly and with care via FedEx and even sent me a gift of a bracelet from their collection. I'm so grateful that I reached out, because this shop is awesome! Great place. We were able to meet the owner of the shop. She was one of the divers that discovered one of the wrecks. She has massive amount of wreck coins, gold, silver and gems. Going to this place just about made our trip. I could have sat in her shop all day listening to her stories. It's a must see. read more

We came here after the guide at the Shipwreck Museum recommended it for a place to get real shipwreck artifacts. We didn't buy anything, but the man behind the counter was extremely knowledgeable and gladly answered all of our questions. Would recommend for the curious! read more

I'm a history major and am fascinated by anything that's historical. It happened to be my birthday and I was dying to purchase an old coin to wear as a pendent. After visiting several jewelry stores around Duvall, I stumbled upon this place. And I'm so glad I did! I was promptly helped by the sweetest and most accommodating lady named Anita. I wished I could have afforded to purchase an authentic coin from the Atocha, but I will someday. Instead she showed me authentic coins from the shipwreck of El Cazador. This shipwreck played a vital role in the history of our country, which makes it all the more special. The coins were beautiful. From 1782, 1783, recovered in 1993. She had several mounted on silver and gold bezels. They sell several types of coins in varying condition. I honestly wanted one that you can clearly see the portrait of spanish king Carlos III on one side and the symbol of Leon and Castile on the other. I also wanted a specific gold bezel on the silver coin. Anita showed me several coins and I was able to handpick the exact coin that I wanted and after making a phone call, she arranged to have my coin mounted on the gold bezel I wanted. She told me I could pick up my coin the next morning. And that's exactly what happened. The coin pendent looks amazing. The combination of the beautiful silver coin with gold bezel is gorgeous. They provided me with a certificate of authenticity. Now I can wear an interesting piece of history. read more

The Key West Treasure Chest is just that. We just happened into the shop one afternoon stumbling around all the really cool places in key west and stayed to hear stories of treasure and coins. We bought some replicas of the sunken treasure coins,but the next time we came to KeyWest it was for the reale thing. The owner makes us feel special and she's got great stories. There are a lot of shops in key west but this is one we go back to every visit. read more
