Departed the company that held my 401(a) and 403(b) several years ago. I decided to move my…read moreaccounts to another brokerage firm. Contacted them because I could find no on-line forms or instruction to begin the process. Had to endure a hard sell to keep my funds with them. Finally I was told the forms would be emailed. I was emailed two copies of the 403(b) form. This is a paper PDF that I have to fill out by hand and sign. I edited one of the 403(b) forms, changing the name of the form and my associated account number. I added in the notes field that they sent me two copies of the same form, so I made the edit. In the notes I also added that if my edits were not okay, they could just email me the correct form. Days later I got an email stating they needed to talk to me. Nobody tried to call me, I had to call them. I called, went through 10 minutes of hold queues and finally got to the agent who then put me on hold for 5 minutes to see check my file. She then told me that I sent them the wrong form and would it be okay to email me the correct form. Broken process!! Why aren't the rollover forms available online? Why can't they call me? Why didn't they just email me the correct form as requested? Why did I have to call into the main number and not a direct line to avoid all the hold queue processing and company advertising/announcements? I've had my money there for 14 years and was considering leaving it there and just wanted to look into the process. Once I learned I had to call in to request the rollover forms, I decided right there, they are money hording. And the challenges of getting my money out are continuing to build.

Terrible! I had an employer 401(k) account with them. It took three transfers to get my money out…read moreof their. They charged huge fees each time, well in excess of $100. In one case, the transfer fee exceeded the account balance. On two of the three transfers, they sent my money to the wrong place, requiring me to spend hours trying to recover my money. If you have any choice in the matter, never do business with them.
