After 4 days I contacted them to find out what was going on with my repair. I believe the "techs" boss called me back and he too told me I would be better off purchasing a new generator because the Kohler parts would exceed 3K. So, I decided to fix it myself. With about an hour of troubleshooting and less than $150 in parts, I have a running Kohler standby house house generator again. It's no wonder why Kohler doesn't authorize Northern for warranty repair.
