This was our first visit; the office welcoming but there was a sign upon entrance, showing first names of patients for that day. Little details such as this really made the appointment a very enjoyable time. All of the staff were very genuinely friendly, my son didn't have a hard time opening up or make me do the talking for him. He was thrilled to get a "Sadler" chap-stick after his X-rays ; he was actually speaking so much during the appointment, I had to do a few double takes. Lol He is getting his braces this week, he's excited for the entire experience. They have a patient rewards program where you can earn points for so many things; being on time to appointments, no cavities, good grades, liking their social media, taking surveys, reviews, etc. This is motivating him which has helped him not be as nervous as I expected and is additional incentive to keep doing his best at school. However, I was told I…read morewas on the naughty list because I canceled one of my sick children's cleanings and gave less than 24 hour notice and then several months later had to reschedule my own cleaning due to not feeling well. So two cancellations in less than a year. For a family of 5. In the middle of flu season. Their tone of voice on the phone was very rude and the woman literally said to me " well, NOW my assistant has nothing to do for the hour you were supposed to be here. If you would have given us proper notice, she wouldn't be standing around with nothing to do." Ok lady. Not my problem. She was very condescending and made it sound like I was a huge inconvenience and blamed me that myself or my child could not predict feeling ill 24 hours in advance. Ok, In that case I'll just bring whatever virus I have RIGHT in to you! Next time let me consult my crystal ball that gives me a forecast of when my child will get sick 24 hours in advance! (8 hrs notice was the best I could do) They informed me I am now moved to "same day patient only" status meaning I have to call every morning to see if there is an opening that day. No thanks! I asked colleagues for an alternative; switching to the Wheeler Family Dentistry was one of the smartest decisions I've made since I moved to Muncie. I once dreaded going to the dentist because I had years worth of orthodontia when I attended elementary school, and most of it hurt, although the pain is probably worse in my memory than it actually was in reality. Today I received a cleaning, a polishing and a flossing, all while listening to classic rock on the PA system. The staff at Wheeler Family Dentistry is professional and thorough, and they make every effort to see to the patient's comfort. As an added plus, they don't seem to mind when I joke around. I believe my dental care has been passed down a generation, from father (Dan) to daughter (Logan), but the quality of the work remains tops. I will continue using WFD as long as they'll have me.
