Kevin was an amazing partner in helping us buy our first house. Kevin was always willing to help us investigate a property, even if we stated in advance that we were unlikely to make an offer. He took the time to look at the property and explain some of the details that we might not have noticed (e.g. a new shared fence, the likelihood of traffic noise during weekdays, a roof that will need to be replaced in a few years). When we decided to make an offer, Kevin recommended a structure was competitive and allowed us to participate in the next round of counter offers. He worked hard to make the offer interesting to the buyers (i.e. large deposit, short closing time, no financing contingency) without blowing out our budget. I was a little weary at first, this is a crazy real estate market and we had been pre-approved for an FHA loan, and we had no experience buying property. Kevin's professional strengths are: communication, punctuality, patience and knowledge. He often replies e-mails within a few minutes so we did not even need to talk to him on the phone much. Also he remembers all the questions that I asked either via email or in person and always follows through answering them all. Personally I like the fact that he answers most of them via email because I like having the written trace with no risk of me forgetting the answer. Kevin is very professional, always on time, gives an accurate information and never over-promises. If you do not like the "pushing" style (that of many others real estate agents), Kevin is for you. Calling my experience with Kevin "good" is an understatement. Calling him a "Realtor" is doing him a disservice. Kevin is a PARTNER and proved to be invaluable to my wife and I as we attempted to upgrade from our 1st home. I admittedly am not the most knowledgeable at the real estate game; however, I am someone that needs to know what exactly is going on at every step. I needed someone that was patient, responsive and willing to educate. Kevin Collins was that and MORE. From our first meeting, my wife and I instantly felt comfortable with Kevin. He has a very easy going manner about him that puts you at ease for a process that you know will be unnerving. We intended to do this in a traditional way in selling our house and then looking for a new property. Kevin gave us a very honest assessment on our home and its estimated worth on the market. He laid out things we should do before putting on the market and things we could do to both increase chances of a quicker sale and asking price. This all changed rapidly when a house came on the market that we fell in love with. We received a good offer on our home while he was out of town for a couple of days celebrating an anniversary... but he took the time to work on the offer and present it to us and do all the necessary work when we decided to accept the offer. We felt bad to encroach on his personal time but Kevin was happy for us and never once acted burdened. Again, he was our partner. Another time he handled all the logistics for the repair work that needed to be done on the home we were selling from the inspection knowing that my wife and I were stretched really thin trying to move into our new house, packing up the old house while both working 50+ hour work weeks. He made the arrangements and met contractors at our house to let them in. I can't even tell you how much pressure that took off of us. And it was always presented as "it is my pleasure" from Kevin. At the end of the day, within a 60 day period of first meeting Kevin, we bought a new house and closed on our old house.
