It may be just a highway rest stop but this is an impressive place and even looks like a tourist attraction. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of places to stretch and walk. Walking inside there is a fresh always clean smell. I have stopped here more than I have indicated on a Yelp check in and always found an attendant working inside cleaning one side or the other. There are some great nature views and little trails. I'm sure out of state visitors would be very impressed and rest stops are not all alike try one along I-94 near Jackson, Mi where I thought I was going to be mugged, or an area of Oklahoma where the odor is worth a gag fest! read more

During our road trips, we have never stopped at the rest areas thinking that it is for the trucks...lol However, our friend wanted to stretch his legs and relax before continuing to drive. He suggested we stop here and we did. We pulled the car and it had a huge parking lot with a small building. The building had restrooms, water fountains, and some vending machines. Vending machines had great variety of options that included some healthy foods. Drink vending machine was the usual. Surroundings were clean. It was frequented by people visiting neighboring areas so most of them were stopping for 15-20 mins before moving in the journey. So there was plenty of parking for everyone and no lines at the restrooms. Overall a great pitstop if you are in the area and need to a break from driving. read more
