It was packed and we saw numerous people turned away. This restaurant is a two-person show - a husband and wife team. The wife is the chef and the husband does everything else from seating guests, taking the orders, fixing the drinks, serving the dishes and cleaning the tables...WOW!!! We ordered so much food. It was like a four-course tasting menu for two. Our selection consisted of the Hariri; Chicoree Orangen Salat; Gerostteter Blumenkohl; and Schweinebauch, Wilder Brokkoli, Kkarttooffel Wasabi Puree. The Harira arrived. It was a small bowl of Moroccan soup with a mixture of small pieces of vegetables in a delicious broth. The Orange Salad with endive lettuce was perfect with a nice topping of pecorino cheese. The third tasting of Roasted Cauliflower with a spicy sauce was delivered. Didn't know how I was going to like this dish because cauliflower is not one of my favorites. It was delicious. The last taste little dish arrived and it was another beauty - perfectly cooked pieces of pork belly with wasabi mashed potatoes with a bit of broccolini. Four excellent dished. Nothing left and no room dessert...next time and there will be a next time. Loved all of the tastes. Excellent service. Beautiful presentation. A great homey feel to the restaurant. Highly recommend making a reservation.

Hotel WunderBar happens to be just that... wunderbar! The location is absolutely beautiful, right…read morenext to lake Constance in Arbon, and about a 25 minute bus ride from St. Gallen. I have never slept over here, just enjoyed their lovely cafe. There are plenty of tables located inside the Cafe and outside as well. From the outside you have a beautiful view of the lake, and there are plenty of spots in the sun and also under the trees. Inside against the back wall is a large blackboard with all the food and drink options, and to the left is a small kiosk that sells Movenpick ice cream. The prices are actually really great. You can get a sandwich for 7 CHF, and they offer some warmer dishes for 13-22 CHF. There are also plenty of sides that you can buy if you just want a light snack. I tried the Movenpick ice cream, because all the Swiss people rave about it. For two scoops it's 6CHF, Swiss prices at their finest, but what the heck. The pistachio was incredible, and the mango cream was alright. I was really happy sitting outside enjoying the beautiful view with my yummy ice cream.

The room was quite a bit larger than some of the other hotels where we stayed. The hotel itself is small (9 rooms total). Each room is accessible via a long hallway off the restaurant/bar on the same floor. There was no refrigerator in the room and no air-conditioning. Instead of a number, the room is uniquely named. Our room was decorated in red - red sheets, red towels, red desk. We enjoyed the simple spash of color. The garden off to the side of the hotel is quite large with three rabbits larger than a small dog. There are two rooms in the garden inside large concrete pipes. Simple cold breakfast of bread, cheese, and cold meats. Simple Restaurant; Simple Food - Expensive for the type of food, but that is typical in Switzerland. Great hangout on a warm evening.
