Then I was with my friend about to look around to see what she would want as her birthday gift. The "new vendor" had no manner at all, rushing us to pay. I was surprised to be treated as if I were in a Boulangerie. Maybe she is more suited to work at McDonalds. It is wrong for them to hire this person. She was rude and uneducated. I found 2 other items to purchase as a gift and she was reluctant to wrap it. When I got out I noticed she did not even asked if I wanted any samples, which they usually offer. I spent about 400Eur for stupid candles and there was nothing nice as a service. Truly dissapointing.

The scents, the packaging and the burn time place them on the higher end of candles and I like to use the finished glass as pen or make up brush holders. This location was intimate, but had a wealth of scents for both candles and perfumes. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the shop associates. Lucky for me, the lovely woman who helped me spoke English well and helped me practice my French while I was shopping. She was great and helped me pick out a few candles for gifts, and even boxed them beautifully for me and threw in Diptyque matches and samples of their perfumes. For those of you leery of the price point, this is an elegant gift to bring back from Paris. And, they currently are listed at $64 in the US (not including tax). I purchased mine for 48€ which comes to about $56. If you add in local taxes (in SF it's almost 9%) you end up saving about $10-12 which is a pretty good deal.

Notre Dame, Paris, France -- April 13, 2026…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 visited during the restoration period. We were hoping to experience the history and atmosphere, and it delivered in a meaningful way. Arrival and First Impressions Even with restoration work ongoing, the presence of Notre Dame is undeniable. The exterior is impressive, and stepping inside shifts the energy to something quiet and reflective. We did not have reservations, and the lines outside looked really large, but it moved super fast. The Highlights We were able to access the interior, which was a highlight. The stained glass, soaring ceilings, and overall architecture were stunning. Informational displays about the restoration added an interesting layer to the visit. The Challenges Some areas were still closed due to restoration, and the €2 bathroom fee was a small but unexpected inconvenience. Final Thoughts We would absolutely return once restoration is complete. Even in its current state, it is a powerful and worthwhile experience. This is a must-see in Paris and still very much worth visiting.

Normally to visit you should go online beginning 3 days before your visit to get a free timed pass but during my visit earlier a few days ago that had been temporarily suspended. It didn't matter because the walk up line moved very quickly and I was inside in less than 10 minutes. The self guided tour moves around the entire interior with the only requirement of silence. The stained glass is beautiful and there are many statues and paintings being shown. Once inside it takes about 30 minutes to make it around. You can take longer as you are not rushed. There is also a gift shop inside at the rear of the Church. Mass goers are allowed to skip the line to attend services when they are held. There is a separate entrance for them as this is a working church with its own congregation. I believe Mass is performed 3 times daily with a separate schedule on Sundays. Also of a historical note, the island that the church is on is where Paris originally began many centuries ago. A Metro stop is on the island about 100 yards from the Church.
