Our second visit to this restaurant and another super experience. It should be noted that plates…read moreare small but of very high standards. It's a perfect place for a date or intimate night with friends. Choose another if you need to feed the beast after an epic physical day. Service was well done as the wait staff share the duties so you never want for anything, there is always someone there for you. Ana and I typically share plates and I'm glad we did, croquettes were some of the best yet and the albóndigas de ciervo were well presented and wonderful. Main courses cover the food groups, fish, red meat, pork and foul. The dishes are small but delightful. We had pork and the ciervo in mole. I liked the dish but mole is particular, make sure you know it and like it. Ana not as impressed as I, too strong of a flavor. As for me, . Wine list has plenty to choose from and offers a wide range of prices.

This is a veryyyy small cafe/breakfast spot. Make sure to get reservations or go at a not busy time…read morein order to get a seat. There were probably only 20 or so in the whole place. What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The decor is modern, simple yet funky and homey, and the tables in front of the windows are beautiful! The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)

I recommend making a reservation if you are going to try this place out. I did not have one, but they were able to accommodate me as I was there earlier in the evening than most people in Madrid eat, and I was by myself. The staff was very kind. When I described the flavor profile I was looking for, she selected a wine that was absolutely perfect for the occasion. The bread, baked in house and served fresh, paired beautifully with the olive oil. We finished on a high note with a brownie and ice cream, and the amaretto sour we ordered was delicious.
