On arrival reception had us booked in, and in the room within a few minutes with such a friendly attitude. The room was a wonderful size with a sofa bed, dressing table, plenty of hanging space. Extra bedding if needed. Very comfortable huge bed. TV on the wall. Tea/coffee making facilities. Nice, clean bathroom with some toiletries. Powerful shower, which I love. This hotel doesn't have a 'restaurant' as there is a pub on site but the quaint breakfast room cannot be beaten. Friendly staff who will cook anything special that you may need. Why would you though, everything is there freshly cooked. The local neighborhood has abundant shopping and dining options within easy walking distance. All of our morning and evening meals were in the hotel dining room. My little boy loved the baby pool each day. Food was good, room cleaned nicely each day. We have booked to return again soon, hopefully on a Tuesday as this, according to the literature I read in our excellent sized room, is a very special day at the Dalmeny as this is when they have the weeky fire alarm test which I would love to experience, especially as the children's entertainment is only on a weekend during term time. I dream not only of hearing the dulcit tones of the fire alarm test...ringing out like the glorious Westminster Abbey bells, but of being there during a test evacation, assembling at the fire point (which is at the front car park), meeting the fire wardens, chatting for ages about hazards and risks...I love Health & Safety, it could be the reason I've only been married 4 times but that's another story. My wife, unfortunately, doesn't share my passion and enthusiasm for Health & Safety but she, like me, enjoys the hospitality and experience the Dalmeny offers, so we do have something in common. We are due back again for 5 nights 8-13th September, if it were possible to have a tour of the fire exits and and any C.O.S.H cages etc it would really make my day. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is of a very high standard. Brian has become a very good friend since I got to know him. He is alwayas very obliging and Billy his speaking Parrot always keeps the guests on their toes with his amazing vocabulary. I have stayed her over twenty times and have never been disapointed. In August 2015, I had booked 4 nights at The Wilton for two people. Knowing about the steps and no…read morelift after a phone call with the hotel, I asked for a twin room on the top floor and got No. 14 which was facing the street. Jo, the owner, greeted us and made check-in easy and quick. I really do appreciate that hotels like this one are locked and that only hotel customers can enter via a key. The room was tastefully decorated, the ensuite big and clean and we had a view to the Great Orme and also the sea. Free wifi also worked well and we couldn't complain about the mattresses. Night life was quite loud on one certain night and the seagulls also don't seem to sleep at night. But this is to be expected if you go on holiday at a seaside resort. The breakfast was served in a big breakfast lounge from 8.15-9.15am and was very good with a choice of different breakfasts and cereals etc. The Wilton is very close to the beach and the pier where a lot of attractions are on offer. I recommend going on the Sightseeing and local buses to see something of the area like Snowdownia and Conwy Castle. Explore the pier and if you have kids, enjoy the Punch & Judy show. We had a wonderful stay at The Wilton and will recommend it! Room Tip: If you can get up all the steps to the third floor, you'll have a good view and are away from the traffic noise.

The rooms are generously sized with good facilities, nice decor and comfortable beds. But... What on earth has happened to the lighting? The newly-refurbished rooms are SO dark. There is only one ceiling light in the entire room, which is in the entrance area adjacent to the bathroom. The rest of the lighting comes from 2 wall lights, one standard lamp, and a desk light. Neither the desk light or standard lamp are switchable from the bed. So, you have to go around the room and switch all the lights off before going to bed. Not ideal in a quality hotel. That niggle aside, the stay was fine. Good breakfast, good wifi, easy car parking and friendly staff. Would I go back? Yes... But I'd take a torch. :-)
