Over at Kenai Vision center they are over priced. They also don't treat lower income people with respect. They also have tarnished their reputation in recent years. I really did not feel right there. Will be going somewhere else next time. Also was rushed looking for glasses. After only looking for 30sec. Guy on computer tried pulling a fast one on me. Both times in the last year and a half that I've visited this business, my experience has been very disappointing. The platinum haired guy in the glasses dept. has made me wish I never walked through the door. In all fairness, every other person I have had an opportunity to work with have been helpful and considerate. This was a great place to shop for 20 years, but not anymore. read more

If you can afford to go somewhere esle do. Had to go out of town for a funeral. Aunt took son to his apt. Called and talked to them about not placing an order for anything until I got back. Day before I got back they called to let me know his $1200 in contacts were in. Spent almost $500 on two sets of frames for my daughter. Waited the weeks they said it would take for her to get her frames...oops they forgot to order them. Dr. Told her to just be quiet when my daughter complained that the siting wasnt right and that she was just going to set the script as they were anyways. And then was irritated when I brought the frames back because they werent right. Wish Dr. O'Connell and Dr. Swanson had never sold it. read more

Very disappointed.... I had an issue with one eye. Doctors actually suggested a different location but I went here and they took me in right away. Doc checked my eye and ultimately got it fixed with meds... told me to stay off contacts for a bit. I asked if I could get my eyes checked for Prescription glasses. I came in for that a week or so later. Associate took me into the back room and stated processing me. Checking my eyes with a few different appearances. Then put drops in my eyes to dilate. Then told me that I needed to sigh waver for the appointment. I told her I couldn't see anything so what was I signing. She explained that the examination for contacts cost and glasses. I told her that I was there for and examination for glasses. I signed. The doc took me back and did her exam. Then came in and handed me contacts to try out? I was confused. Then she directed me to the counter for payment. The original doctor was there at counter and I told him they I thought I was there for glasses... he said they automatically check for both.... Then left. The rep told me my cost for the "contact" exam was over $300.00. I told him NO, I was there for glasses... he said sorry there was nothing he could do! I explained the situation again to him. Then he said he'd call the manager to call me... I've received NO CALL! I feel like I was taken advantage of! Not right! read more

Trust these folks entirely with the health of my eyes. I sought out a second opinion here for glaucoma that was diagnosed at a new place across town, and first noticed that the testing stuff was far more advanced here. Several more options were presented at my appointment at Kenai Vision for treatment and care, and I really appreciated being given choices and info to make those choices. The doc was easy to "click" with, and I even got a follow up call from a staff member to make sure that I was doing OK with my treatment at home. Good selection of frames but lenses are outrageously high priced!

So I went through these guys my insurance has them as the sole provider for our sole provider in Kenai. I wear contacts in I'm usually at least a negative 6. My exam was in May, and I noticed immediately that I could not see that well but didn't think it was a Huge deal but my normal prescription for that I on my last contacts was negative 5.75 and my new one with Kenai vision is negative 5. I used my stronger precription until I ran out and started using the new prescription provided from Kenai vision. I went to the DMV a week ago, and BARELY passed my eye exam! I went back to Kenai vision after I called and they invited me to come in to check it out. After speaking with someone there and showing them the prior prescription I was given compared to the one I thought from Kenai the lady looked it up and said well your insurance rolled over so we can have you in for a new appointment. I was asking for a new exam for free saying that there was such a difference. They would not accommodate that after I spent money on 12 months of contacts plus the exam back in May. I will be going through my work channels to try and get a new provider added in the kenai and soldotna area as having one option is not ok. I was shocked that they would not provide me with at minimum another exam to see what the problem was and am extremely disappointed. read more

I will not be using this company in the future as I was not happy with the service I got last three times interacting with them. They were slow to acknowledge me as the eyeglasses persons helped a friend or family member. they also failed to inform me that they could not repair some frames I had sent in. I also believe that the costs were excessive for the glasses that they were able to provide. read more

Stopped in to get a repair done on some glasses that I had broken the temple on. While they did not have the exact part - I am from Chicago and had bought the glasses there, everyone went out of their way to try to help me. They found a temple in their stash that was close, and re applied it. I insisted on paying for the part, and labor but they refused my payment.
