Laurie Satushek is the person you want representing you if you are a buyer in the Bellingham area…read more I know this from personal experience. In fact, I hadn't even planned to purchase a home in Bellingham, and was just visiting a friend in town, when I was introduced to Laurie. One thing led to another, and in a day, I was out looking at properties. Laurie is FROM Bellingham, and knows and understands the market there as well as any one person could. This knowledge base is of inestimable value. She showed me properties that fit the very narrow constraints of what I was willing to spend, what I was looking for in terms of an investment, the return I expected to get, etc. In other words, Laurie LISTENED to me. She didn't show me things she THOUGHT might work for me. She showed me properties that fit EXACTLY the parameters I was working in. This is a rare thing today in Real Estate. Agents are often so desperate to close that they'll show properties that have only the most remote connection to what the client has stated they are looking for. Also, Laurie was available to me at virtually all times, and always responded to my calls and e-mails in the most timely of fashions. I have been buying and selling houses for 20 years, and I wish I had met Laurie earlier. Having worked with people across the ability spectrum I can honestly say that I've never had an agent go so far above and beyond the job description as she did in helping me find the property that was exactly right for me. To call her tireless would be an understatement. And.. I got the impression she had plenty left in the tank. Add to that integrity, honesty and a great sense of humor, and you get an agent who is not only a pleasure to work with professionally, but someone who makes the multiple hours involved in hunting for, inspecting, and ultimately making an offer on a home seem virtually effortless. But the effort is there. If you're looking at homes in or around Bellingham, Trust this review. Don't buy a property in this area without first consulting with Laurie Satushek of Keller Williams.

First Paulina sits down with her clients and gets the "dream home must haves". She reviews current houses on the market and gets notes on what you like or don't like. She walked us through each step of the home buying process, the way our previous realtors never did but should have. She even helped me measure every inch of the house so I can do proper planning and shopping for the space . Over all, she went above and beyond! She made a cute little welcome home basket, and even paid for the moving truck! You can't ask for better service from a realtor ! Thanks Paulina, you are the BEST!

Kelli was amazing throughout the entire process of buying our Sudden Valley home. She was promptly on time, flexible, and showed us a number of properties. We knew what we wanted, sent a list ahead of time, and she scouted the availability. She saw that we were on the fence between two homes, listened to our back and forth about what we liked and didn't like, and offered insight where she could without completely influencing our decision. She never made us feel pressured and offered to show us the same place multiple times so that we could be sure of the place. Often times a person might only be able to see a place one or two times before buying which is strange considering people live in their homes for a long time and it is one of the most expensive purchases a person can make in their lifetime; but Kelli made an effort to show us the places as many times as we needed to feel excited, motivated, and confident about our purchase. She even helped us arrange the inspection, gather information on contractor bids so that when we counter-offered we had what we needed to back it up, and referred us to some really good contractors that we've already used and have been pleased with. We've used Haulin' Ash for our fireplace, Bellingham Mold for our moldy attic, and Bishop Builders (Larry) for windows, dry wall, and general builder stuff. Thanks Kelli!

She helped us find the right house in the right neighborhood for the right price. She was patient and flexible while I was deployed and my wife was trying to look at homes that would be perfect for us. She took extra time to video chat with me and record house tours when I wasn't available. She did all this while answering all our questions, giving us good advice, and finding homes that met our needs. Michelle has been there every step of the way. She has always answered every call or email no matter what time of day or night it was. Her professionalism, mentorship, knowledge, honesty, and hard work ethic are much respected and appreciated. I never felt that she was just trying to sell us a house, but that she was a mentor to answer our questions and help us to make the best decision for our family. If your military or not Michelle should be the first realtor you call and we feel so fortunate that she is so dedicated to her job and backs that up with the extensive knowledge about buying or selling homes. Even after closing she continues to be extremely helpful and we will be calling her when its time to sell. Highly recommended.

As first-time home buyers, my wife and I were unsure of the process, but Julian was patient and understanding throughout our five-year search for the perfect home. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the local neighborhoods, taxes, and regulations, and helped us navigate the move to the area from California. Julian was always responsive to our questions and concerns and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable with every step. When we visited Bellingham, he even spent an entire afternoon showing us around the city and giving us in-depth details. We went to different neighborhoods and he showed us all the best restaurants and shopping areas. The guy is clearly dedicated to his career and will stop at nothing to make sure his clients get what they ar looking for. Julian also did an excellent job negotiating on our behalf and helped us get the best possible deal on our dream home. We closed at 16% below asking, and it helped us avoid negotiation pitfalls. He also helped us with everything from finding a loan to insurance and inspections. We were extremely impressed with Julian and his team's dedication to their careers and their ability to exceed our expectations. One of the things that stood out to us the most about Julian was his genuine care for our well-being. It was clear that he was not just in the business to make a quick sale, but truly wanted to help us find the perfect home for our family. He truly cares about his clients and it was evident in every interaction we had with him. We highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a home in the Bellingham area. The best part is - I feel like I found one of my first friends in the neighborhood!

The actual sales process was seamless. As a second home five hours from where we live, it was daunting to think of how to move and manage all of the items and furnishings in the house. I can honestly say that we didn't have to do much. Roxy handled almost ALL of the moving out process -- she donated to local charities, sold larger pieces on-island, and found locals to move everything for us. It would have taken us a month or more to manage all of that and thankfully, we didn't have to. Roxy's on-island contacts, expertise about every property on the island, and her easy-to-work-with nature make her a perfect realtor to use on Orcas. We would not hesitate to use her again and we definitely recommend her.

Just 3 days after the listing went live, we arrived for a site visit and made an offer $35K over asking price, and in a very slow and challenging market for sellers, due to ultra high mortgage rates and virtually no turnover of inventory on the market. We presented out letter of pre-approval and met all of his very time-sensitive milestones to submit our bid. In return, he repeatedly ignored his own stated timeline and deadlines to reply, dragged this out for 4 days, and then told us the reason for his lack of follow-through and timely communication was that he was skiing! We did not make a lowball offer - it was a generous offer, backed up by a pre-approval letter form a very prominent and respected mortgage broker, and he treated us with absolutely zero respect or consideration. Finally, in frustration, we withdrew our bid, which may have hurt the seller as well. We advise in the strongest possible terms to avoid dealing with Jon Hansen or the Hansen Group, this was a nightmare experience, and so unnecessary. Of course we are disappointed we didn't win the property, but that's not the reason for the review. The review is because throughout the process, Jon showed absolutely no professional or personal respect or even basic consideration for the value of our time or good intentions. Whether you are a seller or a buyer, you have many other choices for a real estate agent in Whatcom County. Look elsewhere.
