From the beginning, there was a complete lack of communication and follow-through. I was repeatedly left in the dark about my case status and often had to reach out multiple times just to get basic updates. At one point, a week before Thanksgiving, the attorney called me upset because I had been asking for updates--then claimed she had sent an email about needing a newspaper for service by publication. When I mentioned I'd look for the email, she backtracked and admitted it was never sent and asked for forgiveness. That alone made me question the honesty of the firm. Her paralegal Jazmine was also incredibly unprofessional. After I gave her all the information she needed for the newspaper, she failed to follow through. Then later that same day, after I made contact with the newspaper and told her I had already contacted the newspaper myself Jazmine asked me *not to tell the attorney* because she was afraid she'd get in trouble. Court was set for 4/14/25, and at 9:37 a.m.--just 23 minutes before the 10 a.m. hearing--I received a call from an attorney I had never spoken to. She informed me she would be representing me in place of Attorney Daniels and admitted she wasn't familiar with my case. She was asking last-minute questions about documents that should've been long submitted. To make matters worse, I paid in full at the start and was assured my divorce would be finalized within 3 months. It's now about to be a full year, and not only is my case unresolved, but a month before my next court date, I received an email on Friday 5/30/25 at 5:23 p.m. saying that the attorney was withdrawing from my case. Despite all their mishandling of my case and the lack of professionalism, I was still willing to pay additional fees just to ensure I had proper legal representation and could finally get this divorce finalized. That offer was ignored--and instead, they just dropped me right before my hearing. This firm constantly miscommunicated internally, missed deadlines, and handled my very personal and serious situation with extreme negligence. I do not recommend this law firm to anyone, especially if you are going through something traumatic and need reliable, compassionate, and professional legal support. If I could give 0 stars I would. I will be filing a grievance and be reporting to the Texas state bar.

The staff was disrespectful and unprofessional, with the owner, Gladys, even telling me to 'shut up' when I was simply trying to inform her about missing records of three months' worth of payments (presents) for my son during a period when we were not yet going through the court system. To make matters worse, during a court Zoom meeting, the owner herself laughed at me, despite the fact that I had paid for their services and was in desperate need of their help. If you're considering this firm for any case involving child custody, especially if you're a father, I strongly advise against it. You'll thank me later. God bless.

After looking into 3 firms (a local firm and two firms out of state including Pines), I had a good gut feeling about Pines. Eric and Ari gave me a great introduction and they and Charles made me feel supported and valued. The sense of relief I had, knowing these folks had my back, was indescribable. Charles understands the law and procedures in a way I or my family could never do on our own. To top it off, he was also very patient and understanding with me given my situation. Highly recommend.

I contacted Pines Federal THREE separate times via their own website to schedule a consultation…read moreregarding a federal legal matter. Three times. I was ignored completely -- no call back, no email, no "we're not taking new clients," no "try someone else." Nothing. Radio silence, three times in a row. Then there was my personal favorite- speaking to a staff member over the phone; this person was so cordial as to not even bother hanging up the phone before referring to me as "gringo basura"-white American trash-before hanging up. How very nice of them. Before this was another staff member who would "PERSONALLY deLIVER a MESsage to the LAWYER (emphasis theirs) about the CASE!!!!" pure sarcasm on their part. Oh, how valued I felt. I would argue that this firm treats all native English speakers with the same level of disdain. If you are dealing with a federal case -- something serious, something with real stakes -- you deserve a firm that treats your situation with basic professional respect. Pines Federal does not. They will let you reach out repeatedly while your clock is ticking and say absolutely nothing. I have since filed a formal complaint with the state bar. There are good federal defense attorneys out there. This firm is apparently too busy -- or too indifferent -- to be one of them. Save yourself the time, the anxiety, and the false hope. Go somewhere that will actually pick up the phone.
