After getting a bit bored of supermarket meat and looking for a little more flavour I visited Kemptons as they are located in the Bitterne Village Precinct so easy to get to by car or bus. The staff here are very friendly and more than happy to help cut your meat to your specification. They are always happy to take a few extra minutes with customers, to explain how best to cook your meat and all meat is locally farmed. The turkey crown I bought at christmas cost £20 for 2.1kilos - not dear and very tasty. They often have offers - buy three packs for a tenner etc, and they also have a large variety of meats from normal chicken and chops, to venison. There is a small deli counter here where you can purchase cheeses and cold meats and I believe their meat is far superior to supermarkets and not too costly. read more

A really big Sainsbury's with lots of choice. Right next to a large Marks and Spencer in a big…read moreshopping and Industrial area. Lots of parking spaces although quite hard to navigate in the car park. It also has a few cash points, a car wash and a petrol station. This Sainsbury's also has a cafe area, a hot food counter, electrical and clothes areas. It is a very large store and takes quite a while to look around, although it is laid out really well. There is a dedicated desk in the clothes and electrical area that can help you with any stock that isn't out on display. It has a large fruit and veg section as well as a bakery but the frozen food isle are not that big. Good place to do your weekly shop as you have a marks and Spencer next door and the petrol is always at a reasonable price compared to other stations. Staff are also helpful and friendly.
