The customer service is the worst I've ever had to face. The settlement of my stolen car is taking now over 3 months, still hadn't settled. I've read that they take in the habits of delaying any settled in hopes the consumer just gives up on they claim. Adjuster never return calls. Unfortunately, Kemper's insured was involved in an incident with my vehicle. He damaged my car on the freeway. As we were pulling off the highway to exchange insurance information, the insured made an illegal lane change to evade me. He got away. I immediately filed a claim with his insurance agency, Kemper. They insisted they could not make a decision without the insured input. The said they attempted to contact him for 1 month. At the end of that month, the insured evaded Kemper. Kemper's office called me today to tell me they are Not paying for my damages. They said they did Not ever speak to their client. They did No investigation. Although an accident is not 100% your fault, they never contact you unless you try super hard to contact them. Extremely Dissatisfied with Kemper Auto Insurance. I recently had a regrettable encounter with Kemper Auto Insurance, and I must express my profound disappointment. It took over a month for their claims department to even begin investigating my case. A whole month wasted while I continued to struggle with a damaged vehicle and mounting frustration.I reached out to Maricela Granados, the supposedly responsible claims representative, multiple times over that excruciatingly long month. I sent emails, left voicemails, and even attempted to contact her manager, but my efforts were in vain. It seemed like Maricela was a ghost who had vanished into thin air. When Maricela finally acknowledged my case, her lack of urgency and disregard for the fact that I was still driving around town in a wrecked vehicle was astonishing. Kemper Insurance is an absolute HORRIBLE company! I waited until I got my payout before I came online to vent just how terrible they are. I totaled my car during the storm on New Years in Sacramento, CA. That's December 31st, 2023. I just received my pay out in the mail today, almost 10 weeks after I loss my car. I am not going into details how they procrastinated picking my totaled car up from where is was towed to after the wreckage. I am not going into the NUMEROUS emails and voice messages I left for my adjustor, Lynette Green. I voice message stays on, she is not in the office and will return the call within the next 48 hours. LIES! Which is why I called up to three and four times a week some weeks. I those 10 weeks of trying to get my car finalized and leaving message and not getting any help, Lynette called me twice the entire time. I left voice messages with her supervisor, Anthony Stork and he never returned my call once. I dealt with a Krystal Bailey and a Corrina Griffith. None of them are of any help. You basically are on your own dealing with these people. And they outsource their customer service. So if you can understand the person you are talking to, I GUARANTEE you, all they are going to do is transfer you to a voice mailbox of someone who will not return your call. Oh! And more to it, when they issued my finance company the pay off, the check got rejected and sent back to Kemper because they tried to pay an amount other than what was supposed to have been paid. I had to jump through hoops with the finance company and dmv to find out what Kemper was up to. I just left another voice message with Anthony this morning because when I called for Lynette again, her greeting said she is out of office from yesterday until next week. I was like these mf's is sorry. Now that I got my pay off check in the mail today. I can't wait to get another car, so as soon as I walk off the lot and need insurance. My vehicle was hit by a Kemper insured on November 16th 2020. I have been very proactive since the beginning providing information and anything else that was needed. I have been patient, polite, respectful and professional. Sad to the all of these qualities have not been reciprocated by the Kemper employees! As of today the claim still has not been resolved. It now has been 51 days after accepting liability with no resolution. I have called in to Kemper 26 plus times and emailed 12 times. I have documentation and the phone records supporting all of the above. Out of all of my attempts I have only been contacted 4 times by phone and 3 emails. I have been assigned 5 different claim handlers throughout the process so far. I have been in contact with 7 different people while trying to get updates and have left messages for 4-5 supervisors that were sent emails and left messages, of which "none" ever called me back. On the Dec 16th I made 5 phone calls and I was finally told that my vehicle was a total loss and they were waiting for a supervisor to approve the settlement offer. By the Dec 18th I heard nothing and called again twice with no responses. Finally on Dec 23rd after 5 phone calls and to messages to supervisors a representative finally called me back. She was not familiar with the file so just read the notes from the claim handler in charge of the file at that time. I was emailed the offer and information used to attain the offer. I found 5 mistakes on my vehicle options that were not included. I was told to email the claim handler "Phyllis" explaining the mistakes so they could be corrected and I then would receive another offer with the corrections. I sent an email with the corrections and my concerns that same day Dec 23rd. I never received any response or acknowledgement. I emailed and left P.H a voicemail on Dec 29th and again no response or acknowledgement. On Jan 4th I left voicemails for 2 more supervisors for a second time through this process and I never got a call back from them for a second time! Finally P.H called me back at the end of the day and was very unprofessional - started with telling me there still is no approval on a settlement offer based on the corrected information that I provided. Then told me as of 12/31/20 Kemper was not paying for my rental any longer because in her exact words Kemper can't just keep paying for my rental!!! Even though I have been very proactive trying to get information and only got a call back from P.H when I called multiple times and left supervisors messages. She told me it was my fault for not accepting the offer based on incorrect information which I got 37 days after claim was filed. Which from experience "30 years in this field" should have been done in less than 30 days! P.H. also told me they were changing the original offer removing tax. I have that offer in writing that includes tax. In 30 years of dealing with customers and totaling vehicles I have never experienced or witnessed anyone else experiencing such horrendous and unprofessional treatment! I will be filing complaint with the state of Illinois and the BBB as well. It has now costed me nearly $1000 out of pocket between rental and the interest from the loan payments that I am still making on a vehicle I haven't driven in 2 months! I will also be leaving reviews on every possible website that I can find! On a final note if assistant was able to read notes from P.H in the file about the settlement offer why didn't P.H. call me with that information especially if she was planning on cutting my rental with no courtesy call about that either! I was very understanding during this process taking the pandemic pandemic into consideration. Knowing that things are being done differently and may be more difficult. There is no reason it should have went on this long or even reached the Holidays!! I feel that I have been taken advantage of and now have to suffer more out of pocket during a already stressful time economically and financially as a result of pandemic. I need the rental because my wife and I both work to survive and it appears that Kemper is a company that does not care! read more
