Both of our daughters and their teams had their sports pics done and on a beautiful day outside, the photographer had the teams and individual pics done INSIDE in the High School cafeteria! I absolutely hate the background on these lacrosse pics - you can see the posters and the principles office in the background... how quaint. One of the players even had a random person walking in her background. I mean seriously, at least drop an outdoor scene or stadium into the background - it's not hard! At no time EVER should an outdoor sports team have their pics taken indoors. I reluctantly ordered but if this type of shoddy photography continues, I won't ever order from you again. Do Better! update - they called me back and said that the coach did call and said that the weather might not be great and if that's the case, shoot them indoors... but what your photography FAILED to use is use reasoning. It wasn't raining. The weather was actually pretty nice but they shot them indoors anyway. They just took the easy way out and didn't put in any effort. read more

There was an issue with my prints and the delivery and I was so upset at all that money I spent on school portraits that were creased during delivery! The owner was great and super understanding, he had gotten more prints overnighted and then BROUGHT THEM TO OUR HOUSE to drop them off in person to avoid any further issue! They were hired to take individual and team photos. The photos were adequate, and when they put the team posters together they put 2 girls in twice and left one out. They quickly fixed it with no effort, sloppily done. No apologies were made or thank you to us for letting them know of their mistakes. Do not use them-you will be disappointed. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR SPORTS PHOTOS Maybe these guys are good for family or weddings, but that are terrible for sports pictures!  Multiple complaints on quality from our hockey association.  I had to pay a $25 sitting fee because my child was quarantined during team photos, and I was told that they could just add him to the team and attitude photos,  after months,  I have yet to see these pictures,  and the rest of the team already bought team photos without my kids in them! read more

Kemmetmueller provides the team photos for Wayzata High School sports teams. For the past four years my kids have been on sports teams, Kemmetmueller has consistently produced poor quality photographs (usually overexposed). Our order is almost always not what we ordered. We have gotten pictures of a different athlete, wrong team photo, or not gotten our order at all (it took multiple calls to finally get out order filled). Given that Kemmetmueller consistently fails to complete our order correctly, and produces poor quality photographs (I could do better with my smartphone), it is a wonder why Wayzata continues to use them as their athletic photo provider. I wouldn't trust them to take a picture of my lunch. read more

I bought a Groupon for Kemmetmueller's Elusive Art photo shoot. I was super nervous, but Elle was wonderful to work with! She made the whole thing very comfortable, and the photos turned out beautifully - my boyfriend LOVED them! The process of ordering the photos and a book afterwards was a little more time-consuming than I would have liked, but I feel it's probably just because I didn't understand the work involved to make it happen. Prices were a little steep, but I think probably on par with other local businesses. All in all, pleased with my experience, and have recommended them (and specifically Elle) to friends! read more

Matthew took over the business from his father, and I think it went from over priced cheesy photos to good wedding talent with attitude and high prices. Both individuals are quite arrogant. Anyway, the son was a guest photographer at my wedding (basically came along with the photographer I hired). I had not met him prior. His pictures were good, but I didn't have to deal with pricing or the business aspect as I bought through the hired photographer (Loved him by the way!) He later ended up shooting pictures of my daughter, maternity through one year. Long story how, but he came to us and requested we let him take the photos for experience. So, long story short, we did not get what we were supposed to get out of the deal. Regardless, we were his on the job training. He complained about kids as he took our pictures and a lot of time was spent talking, so by the time pictures were taken our baby was crabby. He also spent a lot of time talking poorly of past and current clients as well as other photographers, making us wonder what he would say about us to other clients. We have been hung up on by his father, waited up to four months to see our photos, quoted different prices by Matthew; lied to about our agreement and "so called deals" and the father is incredibly condescending. When I met with him, he slowly explained how to take a picture out of the picture frame, and went as far as to explain to me which side of a photograph is the image side! Overall, not worth the money. read more

My two children are nearing completion at Wayzata High School and have been involved in activities with photo shoots many times each year. Kemmetmeuller photography has been wonderful--each time I pulled the package out of a backpack I've been delighted. Service when my kids have forgotten to order packages (frequently for my son) went above and beyond. Often I stopped in to ID which kid from the track team and was welcomed with patience in the search. Had Daughter's Senior Pics done through Kemmetmueller. We wanted outdoor pictures and waited until fall because we thought we could/would get nice fall leaves and such. Well we were brought to their pre-arranged "spots" and were only allowed to have our poses done in THOSE spots. There was a tree across the road that was in beautiful color and we asked to go there but were told no. So every kid who goes for outdoor pics (unless you pay the hefty fee for "any location you want") will get the exact same photo location "spots". Not the least bit unique. Next problem... They only want to take pictures of you posed a certain way. Not your "good side", too bad! Don't want your hand up to your face? Tough. Don't feel like grabbing the pole in one of their "spots" well you are just out of luck! On to the next problem....the photog gal who was doing our pics kept moving my daughter's hair around. My daughter wears her hair pulled forward over her shoulders but the woman kept sweeping it back behind her shoulders. I kept having to step in and be the MOM and put my daughters hair back the way she wears it. This woman didn't care in the least that my daughters hair was windblown and looked like crap, she was just going to take the picture and be done, so I had to keep stepping up in front of my daughter (so the chick couldn't take the pic) and smooth daughter's hair out. Finally pics were done and we go back into their little office building. We make our 2nd appointment for proof viewing and pick up. When we went back to view the proofs we were show the pictures on a huge tv screen. Nice I guess. But then both Daughter and I were in for a shock. They had somehow drained the color out of my Daughter's eyes!!! Most of the photos looked like my daughter had very light, frosty, white-ish blue eyes. Matthew claimed they didn't do anything to her eyes/color in the photos. B.S. Fella! My daughter has blue-green-aqua eyes. So there were 2 shots of her where her eyes looked normal, and 1 shot where the eyes weren't weird. NONE of the photos were Great. So I ordered from the shots where her eyes looked normal. Of course they were trying to upsell me to HUGE photos that are, like, the size of a wall. Might have been worth it if ANY of the photos had been decent. Daughter wanted to be able to post her pictures on Facebook and everywhere else on the internet. We were told that they would have that ready for her in a few days. It was a link or something on their website that she could get. Well that took 2 phone calls to get fixed. We also had issues with them and submitting my Daughter's photo to the yearbook office. That was a hassle and a half!!! I made 3 phone calls to Kemmetmueller to try and get the issue resolved. They claimed they had sent the photo, yearbook office claimed they didn't get it, and around and around we went. Finally after my few calls to K-photo, the yearbook office, my daughter GOING in to the yearbook office, the deed was finally accomplished! 1 day before the submission deadline for yearbook. Daughter was in a panic and so was I...what is the point of Senior Pics done by a "Professional" at a hefty cost, IF you can't get the picture into the yearbook. Thankfully we got the photo from K-photo in time! So the silver lining to this whole ordeal? Daughter liked their rambunctious dog. AND that is the reason for the 1 star. I was super disappointed with both the customer service and the finished product. I had my son's senior portraits done at Kemmetmueller. The first appointment for the photo shoot went fine. I made an appointment for 2 weeks later to view proofs. When I arrived for the appointment I was told the printer was broken and to come back in an hour. I returned later to get the proofs and have pricing explained. The pictures were just ok. Only 1 "great" shot and only 1 or 2 "good" shots. We had a hard time finding one that would work for the yearbook. I made another appointment for 2 weeks later to order the prints. That went well, no problems or surprises. I called 10 days later to find out when I could pick up the prints and was told they were being finished and to stop by anytime. My husband stopped by 3 days later and they were surprised to see him. He was told to come back in an hour because they were just finishing the final print. This seems like a lot of appointments just for senior portraits. Also being told to come back in an hour on two different occasions, especially on a Saturday was frustrating. Their hours are not customer friendly as they are only open until 5 pm during the week. The portraits we just ok. The paper used was thin and the picture were curling up at the edges slightly. Also the 2 seating options while waiting we're a choice between a sofa covered in cat hair or a chair that when I sat in it smelled like cat spray. Yuck. read more
