They made sure we had what we needed, gave us the space to gather and remember him, and took so much stress off my shoulders. The location honestly felt perfect for my Papa. Being able to bring everyone together, share stories, laugh, cry, eat, and raise a drink to him meant more than I can explain. The food was great, the service was wonderful, and most importantly, we were treated with genuine kindness. When you're planning something like this while grieving, that kindness matters more than people realize. We mentioned what happened to the bartender, who was also the manager on duty, and she just said "you'll have to talk to her" - no attempt to fix the situation or apologize. By 6 PM -almost two hours after we sat down -we still had not been served by a single person. No water, no drink order, nothing. This is the second time this has happened to us with the same server - we had the identical experience about three months ago. An empty dining room, tables that came in after us getting served, and we're the only ones completely ignored for two hours -- that's not a fluke, it's a pattern. We have been playing Here for years.
