Theeee worst dentist I've ever been too. Unlike the other girl I had a great cleaning maybe because I'm obsessed with getting my teeth clean. I can write about the this and that and other things that were alarming but let me cut to the chase. My chart was transferred to dr turner because my original doctor that did my inivisiline is out of state and I needed the buttons put on and a little filing. I can tell they don't do a high volume of inivisiline because the buttons were done sloppy and actually 2 popped off hours later when I removed my tray to eat. Still that's not the worst part. She had filing to do to make space to shift my teeth and she hacked my teeth with an electric file (my previous doctor never used and electric one) it was a horrible feeling so, I stopped her and I looked and my tooth in the hand held mirror to see my tooth is jagged and has a huge gap looks like stairs because its cut into 3 separate lengths!!! When I told her whooooaaa "why do I have such a big damn gap" she starts screaming at me for using the word damn! And I'm laying there in the chair in tears! Yes real tears because I realize I have a tooth that is cut wayyyy too much and I can spit through my bottom tooth! We exchanged many words but the worst thing I said was damn and she kept flipping out. I should of known it was not a good idea when she kept complaining about how much she was getting for this treatmen because the bulk of the treatment was already paid for with my previous dentist (who is exceptional). I told her that money was not an issue and I only care about my teeth. I left still in tears. I jumped on my phone to find another ortho and scheduled another appointment with another dentist to fix her nightmare of a 5 minute job. I told myself if she was good I would book my husbands appointment and add her to our womens community reference of doctors for our NFL wives club. However she was the worst and I am so scared that this may cost a lot of money and time to fix this tooth! read more

At first impression, Dr. Turner's office seemed promising. The decor in the lobby was actually not bad, and the magazine collection was varied and current. The trouble began when they couldn't locate my insurance records. That was eventually solved, but then I had to wait 45 minutes past my appointment time even to get to the back room. The woman who took my X-rays was pleasant and efficient, so things began looking up a bit again. Then, the assistant cleaning my teeth, tried to kill me I swear. It was the most painful cleaning I have ever experienced. She seemed to be in a huge hurry and lacked any sort of a gentle touch. At first I was glad that the process seemed shorter than usual because I wanted it to be over, but looking back I feel a bit cheated. Dr. Turner herself was rather friendly (the only reason I give this visit 2 stars rather than 1), but after that cleaning anyone who wasn't attacking my face seemed saintly. read more

Everyone, including doctor Turner, were amazing people and the experience was great. However, they told me I had a molar with a cavity that would need to be crowned and in order to do that I would first need to get wisdom teeth removed. Didn't sound right as all I went in for was a cleaning. So I went ahead and got a second opinion and x-rays. Turns out there is NO cavity, tooth therefore does not need to be crowned, and my wisdom teeth do not need to be pulled. If you go here tread lightly and consider a second opinion if a lot of work is suggested. read more

New to Nashville and needed a very painful tooth extracted. I was able to get a same day appointment which was great. I didn't have to wait long after filling out paperwork. Got a cleaning from a wonderful new dental hygienist name Angel. She was very polite and sweet. Dr. Turner took my took out in about 5 minutes, didn't hurt a bit. (Other than those dang shots, man those hurt) They offered me the fluoride rinse, told me the cavities I had, and said after the fillings we can talk about implants (because I need them) I never felt pressured, deceived, or anything like that. Dr. Turner's office was a disappointment. I made an appointment with them to get a routine cleaning. They were constantly trying to 'upsell' to me. They told me I needed half a dozen other procedures, such as cancer screening +$60, Night guard -who knows how much, and teeth whitening. I appreciate their concern for my dental health but I really felt like they were concerned with making a big sale and not my teeth. I waited for 40 minutes to have my first appointment with them. I was extremely annoyed, because if you as a patient are late or cancel without 24 hour notice, they want to charge you $25. They don't give you $25 for waiting in their office for 40 minutes. They cleaned my teeth, but made me schedule a second appointment to deal with cavities. Second appointment means another co-pay. My second appointment, I again waited for 45 minutes, I made my appointment at 8:30 in the morning and they were still this far off schedule that early in the day. I decided to leave, I was so pissed that I had waited that long. So I found a new dentist. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went in for a cleaning with my new TN Healthcare (new resident to Nashville). Staff was very friendly, however, Dr.Turner about ruined my entire life. I had an old childhood (metal) filling that she confused for a cavity and said I needed a root canal. I had no pain,nor did I express any pain, just wanted a cleaning. So I as pondered on my quoted $84 root canal and became very eerie about the accusation. I read reviews (which I should have done first) and nothing but negative comments that I seen first hand going in there. Dr. Turner didn't even examine my teeth past X-rays (meaning she physically didn't look at my teeth) I took further action to go see if this claim was accurate by going to another dentist and when I told my new dentist what she said I needed he was APPALLED!!! I used Kelli Turner for 2 years and about a year ago she told me I had "pit cavities" and she had to drill them and put fillings in. She did and ever since my teeth are SO jagged they cut my tongue and the fillings have come out twice. She drilled my teeth so deep that I can't get the food out of the center of my teeth with a tooth brush and sometimes even tootpicks don't work. I also have sensitivity to sugar and cold that I never had before. Don't go there, My teeth are SO messed up now. Never had cavities or sensitivity until I went here. Stay away. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Turner for more than 8 years. She is very courteous and thorough when it comes to my dental care. I don't mind waiting a few extra minutes if I have to do so. She is there to help me and I don't want a "fast food" dentist cleaning my teeth. If you have patience and don't mind a soothing dental experience, give her a try. It's dental work, so of course it's going to hurt sometimes. Overall, I have been a fan for a long time! I trust that I will keep going to visit Dr. Turner and her trusting staff!!! read more

I wish I had read these reviews before I booked an appointment with Dr. Turner... I was referred by a friend, but my experience was seriously less than professional. I had the same experience as most of the reviews on here. Dr. Turner and her staff tried everything in their power to sell me everything that was an out-of-pocket expensive (and directly into their own pockets). They are misleading with their billing techniques and are not thorough when explaining anything. This was literally the worst dentist experience I have ever had. There is not enough room here to give all the details of my ongoing experience with Dr. Turner and her office staff. It began 15 years ago when I was a college student (with no insurance) and had a toothache. From there she pulled two molars that I am certain didn't need to be pulled (just listened to her at the time). I paid her nearly $2000 out of pocket for a root canal which took weeks to finish because it kept getting seriously infected (to the point my eye was swollen shut and I landed in the ER because she was on vacation and was "sorry" but she can't help me). This scenerio went on several times, and every time she was "on vacation". I've had nothing but trouble out of that tooth ever since. Most recently, the crown crumbled apart and when I went to have it fixed I learned that it was not the proper size crown, and not even a permanent crown. Nice. They were shocked it had lasted as long as it has. Upon further inspection there were old fillings still in the tooth (not sanded down and built up as it should have been) and was falling apart. This cost me another $700 and years of constant pain and what has finally brought me to tell my story. I should have done this years ago! When I was a patient of Dr. Turner's I dreaded going to her office but felt I had no choice. She and her staff were so very rude and seemed to be always passive agressive with some pretty intense intimidation behaviors. It seemed as if anyone who entered their office was fair game for attack. I never understood this and never will. Examples: 1-One morning as I waited (face swollen/severe root canal infection) the receptionist discusses with Dr. Turner very loudly that she doesn't know "who she thinks she is! why is she so special?" as they both stare at me since I was the only one there. 2-Another time I came in with same root canal infection only to find that they weren't even open that day. It was just me and Dr. Turner in some far back room I'd never been in before. She made it seem that she did this just for me since I'd had so much (unnecessary) trouble with this root canal but rather than work on my tooth she stood over me swinging her arms in my face, talking very emotionally about how tough she is and she doesn't take anything from anyone and as an example talked about how she was pulled over by a metro cop just because she was "a black woman in a lexus" and finally wound it down to feeling her own breasts talking about how sore they'd been so she must be pregnant. 3-When I finally had enough of it all I changed to another dentist but needed my file/xrays, etc from Dr. Turner. When I came in to pick it up she called me to the back, holding the file away from me and asking me, in what can only be describle as a hostile tone, "Why are you leaving? Why did you go to another dentist? What did I do wrong?" I'd had it and just rolled my eyes and told her to give me my file. She threw it at me and stomped away. It did not have all the information in it nor my xrays but I never wanted to go back. This is just gist of what I went through with this dentist. RUN FAR AWAY FROM HER! read more

I have been going to Dr Turner for 20 yrs and have had 100% positive experiences. She and her staff have been professional, and gently with me (a wimp about going to the dentist). I have friends who go to Dr Turner and have had the same positive experiences. I am asked if I want an oral cancer screening which I do opt to get 1 x per year. That is usually an extra charge as my dental insurance is poor to average at best. Its optional but I think its an important 1 x yearly test. I would recommend Dr Turner hands down as the best dentist in town (except for my brother in law who is equally a great Doc.) read more

Although it's been a few years since I've experienced this horrific dental visit with Dr. Turner, the memory still haunts me. I had to have a damaged crown removed, she proceeded to remove it however she was hitting my front teeth while she was pulling. After sometime she did get the crown out but she chipped my two front teeth and there are permanent hairline fractures. She left the room and I ran my tongue across my teeth to discover the damage so I got up and went to the restroom to look because I didn't see a hand mirror. I came back in and sat in the chair, when she returned I told her what she had done while trying to remove the damaged crown from the back of my mouth. She arrogantly looked at me and stated, "How do you know you didn't leave home like that?" I told her I know I didn't leave home with chipped teeth and hairline fractures in them. She never admitted to her mistakes nor did she offer to fix the problem. I knew then that I would not return to the egotistical, unprofessional person. read more

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Turner and as I walked into the office it was inviting, and the office staff was very pleasant and helpful as always. I sat and waited my turn and as I was called back I was confident that my experience with the Dr. would be as my experience with the front desk. I go in, take a seat in the chair, the Dr. speak to me and thats about it. She said very few words so I figured maybe shes having a rough day and didn't let that affect me. But what happened next changed my views. I already felt as if she was distracted from what i was there for, but then she began to make snide comments about one of the young ladies who work in the office. This girl is very warm, friendly, and kind spirited but the Dr. managed to devour her right there in front of me, a patient. I could clearly tell the young lady was mortified, but she kept quiet and continued on with her work without causing a scene. I felt so bad for her because not only did the Dr. comment while I was present, but she also talked negatively about the young lady to another staff memeber in front of me. This was VERY unprofessional! Dr. Turner boasts the typical condescending behavior of a person in authority. She tends to have an off and on attitude and belittle those in her environment as if she is superior. Ive been there a few times and have experienced the Dr's. seemingly bipolar roller coaster, and now I understand why there has been recent changes in her staff. I am impressed that the ones who remain continue to show up each day, because it is a challenge to work for someone of this nature. I wont be going back because my comfort level here is low. I feel the negative energy she spends on her staff and others should be used on quality care for her patients. You would think one would be smart enough not to jeopardize their own practice by running away those who help keep it a float, but the office turn over is obvious. My care was mediocre at best but her lack of etiquette was the deciding factor in my choosing not to return. I guess they can't teach everything in school, right? Dr. Turner can learn a lot from her staff, and hats off to them for subjecting themselves to this daily but still wear a smile. read more

: I have one word to describe Dr Turner...UNPROFESSIONAL. She is rude to her staff and disrespects them in from of patients. Her scope of practice is very limited, in comparison to other Dentists that I have seen. She will try to charge you for services that she was incapable of doing properly (ie.fillings, and crowns). She has no clue on how to speak to patients in a manner other than dental terms. Then when you ask her a question, she acts like you are stupid for not knowing the answer. NEWS FLASH Dr Turner...I am not a dentist, and apparently neither are you. You are more of a dental hygienist, since all you know how to do is a cleaning! She bills patients incorrectly, then send them a higher bill via mail later. The only thing her staff will say is that the accidentally quoted you incorrectly.
