We enjoyed a delightful lunch in the Biergarten here yesterday. Both of us had the "Grillgenuss &…read moreGartenkräuter". The pork fillet was juicy and cooked to perfection and it was nicely complemented by the creamy "Gartenkräutersauce". My wife was able to tell that the Spätzle was indeed home made. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service impeccable. One of my most pleasant dining experiences in Germany, and I've been living here for over 40 years.

Terrible Attitude and possibly RASIST…read more Used to go there quite often (usually with Germany students), and everything seems alright. Until a few days ago I was there with a friend of my own nation (we're both international students from non-European country) and the waitress basically refused to serve us: we ordered two ice shakes as everyone else (very hot afternoon). Waited for more than 40 minutes and the drinks never came. People came after us, ordered the same thing as us, and got their drinks earlier than us. And when they left we were still waiting. The worst part is that no matter how hard we complaint, the waiters always replied in a contempt way, such as "Almost done", or "Just one more minute", without any apologies or adding the word "please". When they were not busy they just stood there watching and laughing at us. Will never ever go to this sh!thole place again.

The setting is perfect, old world including the beautiful outdoor option. Although we had not made a reservation and don't speak German, the staff was accommodating and seated us in the perfect setting. With a bit of help from Google Translate we ordered a variety of exquisitely prepared steak and pork dishes. Visiting from the US this was our favorite meal in 10 days in Europe and very reasonably priced (just make sure to have Euros - no credit card).

OK, now that I have gotten that news out front I have to tell you about the great evening that we had while visiting this restaurant. I love that there is lots of different spaces for you to eat and enjoy drinks. I ordered a flight of beers and I have to say that the dark beer was probably my favorite. It was very very smooth. The Hefeweizen was great, pilsner had a little bit of a bitter finish, and the other option that was in the basket to me was terrible. But different taste and different strokes for different folks. Patrick was the star of the show other than my incredible veal. You would not know he was from the US because his German was on point. He was so kind and genuinely interested in speaking to us. He was very busy, but he made us feel so welcome and took great care of our needs. We speak a little bit of German, but it was great to have someone give us a little more insight on the restaurant, beers, and food. Thank you so much, Patrick! I wish we could have made a return visit, we should have come to this place at the beginning of our trip and circled back. A little bonus info the burger was also delicious. My husband ordered it and it was almost like a juicy meatball. Really thick, delicious tasting ground beef. If you're in the mood for a burger this definitely hits the spot, but my schnitzel was incredible. did I mention my veal schnitzel was incredible ??? Best meal. I had the entire trip. Hands-down, I hope to return someday!

The service was excellent and on time, they always asked us if we needed anything. The restaurant was clean. The beers were excellent. The Spätzel was out of the box with dried crusted onions, not freshly cooked onions. The schnitzel was a little undercooked, but ok. Since the food was a liilte off, I took off one star. Other than the food , everything ever was great.
