I found a great opportunity through Keepers that was a big step in me finding a position in the industry I wanted to coming out of college. I graduated from Virginia Tech with an English degree last May and wanted to find a professional writing job. For recent graduates, those jobs can be pretty hard to come by because the academic writing you do in college doesn't work as samples in the professional world. Before finding Keeper's, I completed an internship for corporation in Vienna that had me working in an inbound call center. I had picked up some marketable professional skills there, but moved on from the position at the end of the government's fiscal year in October. That's when I found Keeper's. I actually responded to one of their Craigslist postings and Sunny called me that day. He asked me a lot of questions, not only about my experience and background, but my ambitions too. Before the end of the week, he'd already lined up a couple of interviews for me. When matching me to a company, Keeper's did a really good job. They found a non-profit that needed the customer service skills I'd developed in my internship, but also had large print and online publishing departments. They also listened to my preference in company culture and made sure the places I interviewed all had more laid-back and open workplaces. I actually ended up taking the first job they recommended me to, a temp position with the non-profit with web and print publishing. The position was a great fit, and it gave me plenty of opportunity to prove that I could do what I wanted to long-term. I really don't know about the bad reviews on here. I can honestly say that maybe you should step back and wonder if maybe you were the problem with being placed successfully. I moved to NoVA from NM late March with a promise of another job, and unfortunately it did not work out. That's when I turned to Keepers- Alexandria. When I signed up, the terms were clear: receive 100% positive feedback, guaranteed hours during the week, and continue to search for employment on your own (they also promote your resume and skills). Abby and Danielle are awesome! They are both easy to approach and super friendly. I initially met with Abby- she was very welcoming. I completed my paperwork and the testing and the next day- I had an assignment- since someone (with no apparent form of work ethic) did not show up. It was a bit farther than I anticipated; HOWEVER, in the paperwork you are filling out it asks if you have a vehicle or not (fortunately, I do) as it helps to place you. They also ask for flexibility in placing you- after all, they are a staffing agency. They gave me all of the information I needed to be successful and placed me with an excellent company. I recently was hired by the company with great pay and amazing benefits. I really couldn't be more pleased. Being in this area- a commute is definitely NOT out of the norm. Also, being a temp- your attitude is EVERYTHING. You are technically on an interview the entire time- hence the reason for 100% positive feedback. I couldn't have asked for more from Keepers. Keepers of Alexandria, VA came to my rescue! What a delight it has been to work for them. This was the third temp agency that I worked with during my recent unemployment and the only one in which I received any significant attention or results. I found that finding employment through a temp agency to be just as competitive as conducting a private job search. Full time work is not guaranteed. The first two agencies I worked with were professional, but supplied few assignments and showed little interest in "presenting" me to their clients. It was very discouraging. Thankfully, I called Keepers. I tested, interviewed and they just took the ball and ran with it. I began working with the Keepers, Alexandria office in the beginning of June and was offered a full time position with one of their clients in early August. Through Keepers I had some weeks with multiple assignments and some full weeks with one single client. Keepers in Alexandria got me working and placed in a permanent job not just once, but twice. The first time was in 2006, after I had just moved to the area. I worked on a three different long-term temporary assignments until the last company and I agreed that it was a good fit, and I stayed with that company for 4 years. Then just this past year, after having unsuccessfully tried to find something on my own for months, I went back to Keepers - within 2 weeks they placed me with the company I'm with now on a temporary assignment, and a month after that I was hired permanently into a management position doing a job that I love and with people I enjoy. I'll say this about Keepers: if you're flexible enough to work the temporary assignments they give you, disciplined enough to follow their guidelines, and have the drive and enthusiasm to make the best possible impression on their clients, you'll do VERY well with them. They will get you working - maybe not for the salary you want while temping, but you'll be working. And they do really try to find the best job fit for you - both times the Keepers reps have asked me repeatedly if I enjoyed the job, the people I was working with, the location, etc. I did tell them when I felt that a job wasn't going to be a fit, and they would switch me to a new assignment within a day or two. It sounds like Sara had a less than positive experience to say the least. I cannot attest to her experience, but I can describe my experience, and potential mis-interpretations. I was impressed with the fact that Keepers hired me and agreed to guarantee me at least 30 hours per week! There are strings attached.... You must receive 100% positive feedback..... You must be available M-F for the entire day...... You must follow all of their policies. This does seem onerous, but the other agency that I had signed on with gave me no guarantee of work. If you are a prospective employee that tends to skate by and not work hard, I would not suggest working with Keepers. They have very high expectations, and hold you accountable. If you are a star performer, this is the agency for you. They are demanding..... But they did guarantee me work and get me hired into an outstanding association in Alexandria, VA. I was paid an hourly rate while temping, which was less than I was accustomed to earning. I can see how that would be frustrating, but without Keepers, I never would have found my current job. In my opinion, there is a trade off when temping..... Your are paid less on the front end, but if you're a solid employee, you get the job! read more

Keepers really stands by their name. I believe I've only worked for one other staffing agency that lived up to their name. I won't post the name here as this review is for Keepers, exclusively. I started out with Keepers in December 2015 after a lay-off. By January, I was temping for one of their clients. When that assignment ended in February, I was on to my next assignment within days. I believe I worked a total of 3 different places before landing a permanent position with a company (this month - June). The staff at Keepers is very warm, consistent and tenacious in finding their employees work. Their main goal is to get you into something permanent that you love and where you an grow. I relocated to the Washington DC Metro when my wife took a transfer from Buffalo, NY. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to temp again because I found in the past it was difficult to get consistent work. I called Keepers because a friend of my wife's said that she used Keepers when she moved to Arlington. I spoke to a recruiter who asked me some questions about my work experience and my availability and was then invited into their office for an interview. In my previous position as a Human Resources Assistant, I worked with agencies regularly so I already had an opinion about staffing firms. I have to admit I was very impressed by the staff that worked their... they were very enthusiastic about their program and very confident that they could find me a full time job. I have been with Keepers since August 2008. I have had great experiences with Keepers in Alexandria. I was on a long term assignment from Sept 08 to Nov 08. The company had to cut a few jobs so I wasn't hired. I then was put on another long term assignment from Dec 08 to Feb 09. Again, same problem. Money wasn't in the budget. So I have been on other assignments since February; some lasting 4-5 weeks; others only a few days. I have had wonderful working experiences representing Keepers and have had great working relationships with the associates at Keepers in Alexandria. This experience has been very rewarding and I believe each associate that I work with is looking for the best place for me. I have recommended this location to others and will continue to do so. I just have to say that the people at Keepers are great. I was contacted by the Alexandria office and they informed me that they would be interested in talking to me about my resume. They brought me in for an interview and had me working the very next day. I have been doing a lot of receptionist work, covering phones and filing, but I have been working and they have been able to keep me busy while they send my resume to their clients. I guess this is an experience just like any other in life. You get out of it what you put into it. They are a staffing company, but they do work hard to keep things moving and shaking. You have to call them everyday and check in but they give you a plan and keep you informed of what's going on. If you have administrative experience, you might want to give them a shot. I found my experience to be very successful! I was hired by Keepers in September of 2008 and shortly before Christmas I was hired by one of their clients. I went to Keepers looking for a full time job and found that their approach to staffing was so different and unique! They hired me and put me to work the next day! I worked for a few of their clients for 1 day assignments and by my second week with Keepers I started into a temp to hire position. My experience with Keepers was time well spent. Keepers always looked out for my best interest and promoted my skills and talents. I believe Keepers was able to do this successfully because they took the time to get to know me as a person and they cared about what I wanted. I never went a week without an assignment. Sure, some of them were 1-3 days a week; but it progressed to weekly assignments, and then to a full time temporary position. Keepers helped me find my job. Keepers is a Staffing Agency. They find work for you and when you go do that work, that company will hire you based on how they see you. It isn't keepers fault that you didn't get hired, it would be your own. With out keepers I wouldn't be in this permanet position. You have to deliver yourself as a valuable asset so companies WANT to hire you!!! It is all up to you. Also, while you are "employed" with keepers, you also have to look for jobs YOURSELF!!! When it comes to jobs 90% faith and other 10% is having good people in your corner. After a year and a half of job hunting and coming up cold, I decide to have a little faith and call Keepers , it started a little slow but they kept looking for me and I kept the faith that I would find something, 60 days after I started with Keepers I am now working full time making what I was making before I got laid off in DC.
