They were very receptive to adjustments to our tree and debris removal job after an ice storm hit our area. The professionalism was top notch - they put down pads so the equipment would not damage the lawn, they didn't damage a single tree or bush as they were cutting down large trees and removing a ton of fallen branches. I can't express enough how hard working each and every staff member was. They got our job done in a day that I was honestly expecting would take a week. They responded immediately to our call. And the cost was very reasonable. My advice: HIRE THEM. You won't regret it.

Many neighbors in northern Cass County, MN had tree damage from the frequent summer thunderstorms…read moresummer 2022. Great Estates left a tag on my door as they were clearing storm-downed trees just up the road. Although I didn't have storm damage next to the house, a few blew down in the woods. I did have a dying spruce right next to the garage and a couple of basswoods that were growing over my roof that I decided to remove before they came down on my house in a storm. I set an appointment with Craig who was able to stop by in within 2 weeks, assessed the work, provided a written estimate to remove trees (no stump grinding) to which I agreed. He called the next week and we scheduled a day and time for the work. Craig does the estimates, Jeremy is the arborist and the guy in the bucket truck, Jordan is learning the biz and the guy on the chain saws, chipper and blower. Team arrived on time with bucket truck, (massive) chipper, blower & all equipment. They were respectful of my property, clean-up was great (no twigs or chips anywhere) and the problem trees were gone in a matter of hours. I suspect Great Estates is not the cheapest tree removal company around, however, you get what you pay for in this case. I've had other tree removal services who left trash for me to pick-up; missed appointments or just got too busy to do my job after the quote. Great Estates works a large area. Cash or check, only, at this time. I can enthusiastically recommend them.

They promised to have the work done in two days. Ha. They never showed up until noon each day. They asked for 1/2 of estimate up front. After three days the landscaping was not done and they did a horrible job on most of it. Dad asked for the rest of money on Friday and "stupid" me I paid them with a promise from him that they would be back either Saturday or Monday for sure. "I have a reputation to uphold" say's Dan. Well that reputation was shot all to H. They never showed up again and I had to call every day with a promise that they would be back the "next" day. They had left all there tools here so I gathered them up and locked them in the garage. They still had 1/2 ton on my landscaping rock and hadn't sprayed for weeds which was in the contract. Finally on the following Friday they showed. Dad came with two teenagers to help. I went out to give them their tools and then I showed him how the part that was somewhat done. I said they must have ran out of landscaping edgeing because they left about a foot and a half without any. Also there was white plastic showing in several places where they didn't put enough rock. Dan started yelling at me and said"Get in the house lady!!! or I am leaving right now!!!! I told him that it was my yard and he couldn't order me around. AGAIN he said"Get in the house lady or I am leaving!!!! I have never dealt with a contractor that was so rude. I did go in the house but watched them out the window. I didn't want him to drive away with my rock that I had paid for. The rest of the landscaping around the deck was done very poorly. They didn't pick up the river rock that was there and put very little plastic down. They poured the red granite on TOP of he river rock leaving a lot of places showing thru. I would have gladly paid for more rock but Dan said "I am not going to get more rock!!!! That was his job right!!! Now I will have to deal with it and I will have to have some more granite delivered. I am 75 years old and that is why I contracted it in the first place. . Dad said he was going back home to get the weed sprayer but of course he never showed his face again. At that point I did not want him near my place again. I was actually afraid of him. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!!!!!
