Bait and switch. The second year I used them and the last. First, they ask you to sign a retainer and give you a quote of $750 - $1500 for business returns and you must put $500 non-refundable down. Then come back with a pre-defined PowerPoint with a minimum price of $2,500. Next, they will never tell you when your tax returns are completed or give you an estimate. I asked them over 10 emails if they could give me the month and they have yet to say they could. So they actually wait until the very last day to file. This happened to me. I also believe I went through 4 different CPAs from my original chat in March to Now September 2023. Don't believe the hype. Find a local CPA who actually cares. This is a horrible service and company. read more

Upset and distraught. Charlene has gotten over her head. She has been doing my taxes for 3 years. With Covid she offered to help me with filing unemployment as I'm self employed. COVID shut down my industry. After I was "approved" I got a letter from the state later saying I wasn't approved. Charlene told me that was a mistake and dismiss the letter!! I now owe the state of WA $5,000 and I have had zero help from her appealing it! The state has threatened to garnish wages and my bank account. Charlene has pawned me off onto a facebook friend for help (and that friend hasn't responded to me) and an email contact that led nowhere. VERY unprofessional to file for unemployment on my behalf but not appeal on my behalf. Her help has disabled me during this hard financial time. Be careful!!!!!!!!! Do your own work. And don't trust her when she says she can help you during this time. This is very unacceptable behavior for a professional business. To "help" then not help as soon as I'm contacted for a fraudulent claim and now owe money. Next step is to contact a lawyer to make sure she can even do this within her scope of practice. I've been using TurboTax for years. My tax situation has been getting more and more complicated, though, and this tax season I finally decided that I needed my taxes done by a professional. So I looked for an accountant. Now, I've never dealt with accountants before, so I had no idea what to expect. What I found was a lot of people in nice offices with slick brochures and fancy sales pitches who were happy to do my taxes...for $800 or more. Yikes! But I figured that was just the going rate, and resigned myself to paying it. Then I called Charlene. Charlene told me she'd do my taxes for under $200. I was astonished. I was also skeptical, to be honest -- her price was so much cheaper that it made me a little suspicious. But it was a hell of a deal. I said yes. Charlene drove out to my house and met with me in my kitchen. We talked for maybe an hour, and she reviewed the tax documents I had on hand. Charlene walked me through a ton of issues right there on the spot, and came up with lots of deductions, big and small, that would never have crossed my mind. She easily paid for herself right there. Then she asked me to send her a couple other documents via secure email and said that once she had them, she'd take care of my taxes. A few weeks later (and with plenty of time to spare), she sent me the returns. They were spot-on. I gave my assent, she filed them, and I got my refund in short order. No hassle at all. I couldn't be happier with Charlene. She got me more money than TurboTax, did it with less hassle than TurboTax, and charged me a quarter what the big guys do. I still don't understand how she can be so much cheaper, but I'm not complaining. I'm planning to go with Charlene every year from here on out. read more

Charlene is incompetent and unprofessional. She does sloppy work and makes mistakes - I got a letter for from the IRS stating I owed additional taxes and she told me to ignore it. Her house is her office, and it looks like an episode of hoarders - not kidding. She also "floated" an unethical scheme by me to save on taxes, which I quickly declined. My bad for using her. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of her. I am going to file a complaint with the state. read more

Used this firm twice a few years ago. Each time the returns were filed very late and each time communication and response was extremely poor. We got flagged for an IRS audit because the returns were so messed up. Only after five full days of us reconstructing the mess and a return visit to the IRS was I able to avoid a penalty. read more
