Kirk Wade was awesome. I received my first speeding ticket in nearly 20 years for going over the 25…read moremph limit. I pleaded not guilty in hopes of avoiding points on my license, and the judge suggested I attend driving school. Unsure of what to expect, I met Kirk and immediately found him personable and down to earth. We chatted about his business and my occupation. He was surprised to learn that despite my build--more like an NFL offensive lineman than an NBA player--I am a college professor. Kirk explained the driving course to me, which felt like retaking my driver's exam from when I was 17. I drove through the course, which included the Washington Driver's License Center, the Home Depot parking lot, and public roads. Confident I had done well, I was surprised when Kirk told me I had failed the test four times. However, he added that I was the closest to passing he had seen in a long time and noted that no adult has ever passed the test. My mistakes included pulling over the white line at stop signs and going 5 mph over the speed limit in the parking lot. These errors, along with my initial speeding ticket, highlighted the importance of paying attention to the details. Kirk emphasized how much time and money I had spent dealing with the ticket, magistrate visits, driving school, and other related tasks, teaching me the value of punctuality and attention to detail. Our conversation was enlightening, and I am grateful for the experience as it opened my eyes to better driving habits. Since the training, I no longer speed, despite the middle fingers and honking I receive from other drivers. I even discussed having Kirk teach my daughter how to drive, as I believe it would be more effective than if my wife or I did it. After completing the 90-minute session, I drove the course five more times and am now confident I can pass. I look forward to doing it again, knowing I've got it down.

Yeah same thing I did the gas and oil class and cdl still haven't got a job besides moving…read morecompany's that will let me drive their trucks so then I went to their welding program nice welding shop all new equipment great adult evening teacher couldn't ask for a better one but the problem is the morning teacher is an asshole and everyone u come in the afternoon shits always different the school can somehow afford like 300,000 worth of new equipment but when you take your certification tests it took them over 4 months to get my tests tested came in everyday to just see my tests sitting there they do nothing about it you talk to them about it they just blow you off there's absolutely no communication with the main office and the adult students show up on days the schools closed you nor the teacher are ever aware of wasting my time and money to drive all the way there just to turn around. Horrible place wouldn't recomend this school to anybody they also don't care about you at all all they want is your money then they couldn't care less if you came or not HORRIBLE HORRIBLE school don't waste your time or money

Well I will tell you there are a few people that will have a job in less than a month, but my class there was only 1 guy that got a job in less than a month. They tell you that you have to have the Commercial Drivers License (CDL) before a company in the gas industry will even look at your application. That is a lie. The bigger companies if they want you to have different training or a CDL they will pay for the classes and pay you to get it. Now I have talked with quite a few guys that have went through the program. We got on the topic of tution cost that Western Area Career and Technology Center charges for the program. To our suprise we all paid different amounts. Myself paid full price $7995.00. The one guy paid $5000.00 and went through all the same classes as I did. He did show me recipt and certificates to prove it. There are some guys that did pay full price same as me. There were others that only paid $6000.00 So I dont know but when I did hear this I was very upset. I will not recommend that anyone attend there. There are CDL outfits that will train you for half the price. So my advice to anyone going to oil and gas industry go fill out applications and save your money on school. If you dont want to do that you can go to temp agencies and get hired into the gas industry. I will also tell you gas companies hire through temp agencies. So conclusion stay away from Western Area Career and Technology Center (RIP OFF)
