Thankfully in the new 'hood there's The Laundry Chute. I get the feeling it's family run and I'm always greeted with a smile and, "How can we help you today?". The prices are what I categorise as "1980s". Most recently a basic black dress that I've previously paid $25 to be cleaned was a crisp $10. I'll never forget the advice my design teacher told me as well, If you tailor a garment well you are able to drop dress sizes. (And Looksmart promises just that.) Aside from their expert tailoring, they offer a vast range of services from Shortening, resizing, repairing and dry cleaning to hand embroidering, Beading, invisible mending and lengthening. This one is located in the Centro Lutwyche shopping centre which is convenient for the locals who come here to do their grocery shopping. You'll find them at the entrance from the parking lot, just at the bottom of the escalators that lead to Coles. They provide a fast and reliable service and their prices are not too bad either. I recently got 3 winter jackets drycleaned with them which ended up costing $29.85, which I thought wasn't too bad for the quality. Alternatively, if you needed only one done, it would cost $15.20. So, ideally, you'd want to take advantage of 3 for $29.85. I've only ever noticed the same lady working there. Although she doesn't appear to be very enthusiastic about the work, she is still very friendly and helpful. A good dry cleaning place for their fast, professional and convenient service at affordable prices.
