I've been listening to this station since around 2016, when I saw a commercial on TV advertising…read morethat KIXI played Harry Connick Jr. Sadly in this area, it's very hard to find a station that plays his music (How is that possible? How can anyone not love Harry?), so I started listening all the time. My husband and I loved it and I discovered so many different songs and artists that I never knew about or thought about before, really. I feel like by listening so much, my taste in music has improved dramatically. I love Frank Sinatra (Thanks, KIXI!) and of course other artists like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Michael Buble, Neil Sedaka, etc. I could go on and on, but the point is that this is a great radio station. So much so that when I got an email newsletter from them saying that they were in danger of shutting down, I got really worried. They wanted people to sign up for the newsletter Budget cuts and other things (Im guessing) lead to the firing of my favorite DJ several years ago and now they don't play as much music as they used to, because the mornings (around 7am-9)and afternoons (from 3:30 until about 6) are taken over by paid programming. I understand that they had to do that to keep from going off the air, but the station isn't what it used to be. My husband used to say that the more he listened to this station the more he appreciated it. I really like Seth Thompson who DJ's from around 5-8pm. He's my favorite, but the others are great too. I've noticed that they've been playing "newer" songs from Richard Marx and from "Heart", which, although I love those songs, is a little disappointing because in the past if they played a song by a more recent artist, it was a cover of an older song. But they still play the stuff that makes them "Retro Radio". I really hope this station stays around for a long long time and that more people will start listening to it. It's an AM station, so I'm guessing that a lot of people don't know about it, but the station definitely needs more love. I'm willing to give a lot!

My grandmother had this strange dementia/parkinson's disease where she would get very anxious. When I watched her, one way to help calm her down was to put on 880 KIXI so she can listen to the music that she can sing along to. Thank you, Zipzap Zubidy Bop!

I like listening to this radio station during the holidays as they play non-stop Christmas music…read morefrom Black Friday through Christmas Day. Sometimes they play good music from the 80's or 90's and an occasional song from the present. There are better radio stations to listen to and my mp3 player so I don't listen much beyond the holidays. Get rid of the 70's music people are tired of and the really bad morning show.

Instead of interesting and uplifting shows about spirituality and the paranormal, which is why I listened, little by little it has become a voice for right-wing hate and misinformation. There are still a few good shows left on KKNW. I do listen to the Marie Manucheri show and Mantz and Mitchell, but gone are the days when I can just turn on KKNW and hear an interesting guest talking about mediumship or a topic like that. Dale Walmsley seems to have bought up most of the daytime hours, and, honestly, if you're not interesting in real estate, it's BORING. And what's with The Confessional? Christine Cisneroz's show has actually been on KKNW for a long time, and I've never understood what the focus of her show is supposed to be. Another right-winger, she never really has a topic, she just talks in generalities and uses the show as a soap box. Please bring back the old KKNW!
