This place has the worse management and awful manger who is a pain to deal with. Moving out was a struggle as they will charge you an insane amount. You would have to keep arguing with management before you are able to get the charges removed. Unbelievablely shitty place to live. Neighbors were so loud and blast music all through the night. If you ever ask for help, they are never around to help. They claim that someone is there, but they have no problem lying. This place doesn't have a problem with lying to you and coming up for stupid reasons to charge you more than what you initially signed for your lease. They have no morals or standards. You have been warned. Don't ever sign a lease with them! EVER!!!! You will absolutely regret your decision! read more

The water system has a known bacteria problem that makes the water heater and the washer smell like crap at times, washer and dryer barely work, light that flickers and a stove that buzzed like a cicada when the train passed. Fire alarm goes off every fortnight due to some dude burning his toast as well. The outside smells- you guessed it- of complete dog pee because it is soaked in dog pee. Also, not great at enforcing the pick-up poo rule so there will be be sleeper bombs. Pool requires some maintenance, the elevators smell like dog pee and half the time the mat has a giant dog pee stain on it. :) BIGGEST THING: we had a theft out of our parking space on the staff has ignored us nearly completely, and has neglected to inform tenants and is increasing their liability. BE WARNED- your stuff may get stolen and the building will do nothing about it: The positives- the countertops are my dream. They are gorgeous as are the cabinets. Decent enough storage which a pantry as well. Bed room is good size, as well as master closet. The actual handyman is very kind as well. The gym is decent, pool is decent but the rules are very strict. It's essentially strictly for residents. Rent is semi-reasonable with no huge hikes. Overall, our stay was very good due to our doing more than the building. You can make the place your own and ignore the bad things and have a great stay, but the actual building staff are condescending when real concerns are brought up, they have a refusal to fix problems that affect the quality of life for their tenants if it's too much trouble for them. read more

A great place to live. My wife and l have lived here for 6 1/2 years. Well kept, great amenities and very secure. The management team of Scarlett and Corinne do a very nice job of overseeing the care of the Apt and also staging events for the tenants. Scarlett is very professional and engaging with the tenants and incoming tenants. She's very thorough and follows up any concerns or potential problems. I have never, ever, ever, ever rented an apartment. My spouse and I have owned a home since 1992. Last year we sold our place along the Wasatch Front to take jobs in the Uintah Basin. Things did not work out and now we have a huge house payment for a home in the Basin which we need to sell. I recently returned to work along the Wasatch Front and we we fretting over what to do about housing. We haven't even put our house in the UIntah Basin up for sale yet. Family was not available, so we began our search. Our 16 year old daughter came along since she will be living with me throughout the week. From the moment we met Scarlett I think my daughter and I knew we were home. In fact my daughter said that she would only live at Kays Crossing because Scarlett helped make her feel so safe as she described all of the security protocols for the building. Scarlett is the current manager of Kays Crossing, as of August 2024, and I could not be more grateful to her. She is the most kind, compassionate individual and has gone above and beyond what should be expected of her. I needed to move in on a Saturday, but did not confirm that my lease was signed or that I could get into the building. I had decided to stay in a hotel for a couple of nights since it was my responsibility to make sure that everything was ready for me to move in. Scarlett was in Park City having an enjoyable weekend when she got our messages about trying to move into Kays Crossing. She dropped what she was doing, rushed back to Layton, and helped us more than she'll ever understand. To have someone so concerned for us, ready to do anything for a tenant. I know I've never rented an apartment before, but our experience with Scarlett could not have been more positive. I was in tears and having a struggle with my failure. Scarlett was reassuring, kind, and didn't say a word about us taking her away from what she was doing with her family. This type of dedication is rare and I commend Scarlett for her assistance, her compassion, and her empathy! Thank you Kays Crossing, and thank you Scarlett!! *********One final thought. My boyfriend and I tried to make an appointment to go see the listings here. Service was great at first- got responses and everything. They set our appointment at 5:00pm and so we came... and the door was locked. Not only that, apparently they are only open from 9-5! Why make an appointment to view an appointment when you're closed!? Makes me think that they might try to get out of services that their tenants may need (ex. broken pipe). We just moved in. The building has a lot of great amenities. The management was a bit confusing to get ahold of which made us lose the apartment we wanted but we got our second choice. There are a LOT of dogs and not all owners keep their dogs on a leash. Dog poop everywhere outside. Wish people picked up after their dogs because it's hard to take my puppy out and avoid these land mines. Relatively quiet and everyone we've met seems super nice and helpful so far. My wife and I have lived here for nearly five years, and we were only planning to live here for about a year. We are still here that tells you how we like it here. Well, we are in our late sixties and we like the fact this place is very secure with a parking garage that has a secure opening and closing doors. Your car is never broken into and we feel safe in our apartment. My wife is disabled and has a really hard time getting around so, when I am not with her I feel she will be safe. Our apartment is really comfortable and really well planned out for the tenants to use the available space. The nicer cabinets and the granite countertops make it more a designer package. In fact, the apartment is very quiet not like the last rental we moved out of. It is centrally located making it easier to either go North to Ogden, or South to Salt Lake. read more

Are we still in Utah? wow. This place is beautiful! Rooftop terrace with lounge seating, BBQ grill, cornhole!!! The courtyard boasts a pool, hot tub, gazebo, and more BBQ grills. The gym is HUGE (and so are my muscles!). Lots of high end equipment - aerobic, weights, free weights, even cross-fit (because apparently that's popular). Oh yeah. And I guess you can sleep here too. The apartments are spacious, 9 ft. ceilings, custom cabinetry, granite countertops, quality appliances, washer & dryer in every unit. The management team is really great to work with. Always super helpful, friendly, and they kind of make you want to hang out with them, which is great because they plan really fun community events for their residents. We were fortunate to be in Layton, Ut for a few months while my husband worked at the air base nearby. We happened upon Kay's Crossing Apartments while looking for a place to rent for short term. Larissa and Christena were both great to work with and helped us immediately. We were able to move in in a matter of days. The apartment was spacious, immaculate and well appointed. We particularly liked the underground parking, elevator and especially the garbage pick up at your door! It had great outdoor amentities also that we really loved. All in all, our stay was magical and we can't recommend the apartments and management staff enough. We have lived in 3 different apartments, including Kays Crossing & we have to say, Kays was our FAVORITE place. The office is amazing, especially Larisa! These are the only apartments that would take our sweet husky, & he had no issues living there. We utilized the common areas, such as the dog park, pool, hot tubs & gym. Plus, they were always quick to help us if we ever needed any help in our apartment. If we are ever needing to move to apartments again, Kays would be the first we call. My family has lived here for a little over a year. We moved on short notice to Utah from Indiana for work. The staff is amazing and friendly. The pool, hot tubs, and gym are fantastic. Its got a courtyard thats great for my little son to play in. They are super pet friendly and have a nice dog park. I had never lived in an apartment before but this has been a great experience. Everybody that lives here is very nice and its really a very nice little community. I highly suggest that if you are looking to rent in the area give Kays Crossing a visit. read more

I lived here for two years and decided to move becasue I purchase a house. The two years Iived here I had no issues. The apartment is modern, spacious, and has secure garage parking. If you have a dog they will blame your dog for any and all stains underneath the carpet even though they never bothered to check underneath the carpet before you moved in. I rented a 1-bedroom apartment for 1 year and was charged approximately $700 for any and all stains underneath the carpet that my dog couldn't have possibly made. I used the entire bedroom as storage full of boxes and totes; arranged my bed, chairs, etc. in the living room; and used the kitchen counter to eat at. My dog was physically with me at least 90% of the time so although I could accept a few stains (had the stains been realistic) even though my dog is well trained to not mess inside, there is not any way that all of the disgusting stains underneath the carpet that covered the bedroom and and living room were from my dog (which was their accusation). How could he have made a mess underneath where there were heavy boxes and totes? Did he magically move them, relieve himself, clean up his mess and then return the boxes and totes to their original places? How could he have made a mess underneath my bed? My dog is too big to fit under my bed. Seriously? The arrangement in my apartment remained the same throughout my time there and they were well aware of that as they had entered the apartment multiple times for inspections and any other reasons. Don't tell me the people who lived there prior didn't have pets. Pets or not, someone or something made all that filthy mess causing the stains that management obviously had us living on top of. Shame on Kay's Crossing management for having charged me for other people's filth. In addition, the management office told people who lived in the building my personal/private information such as where I came from, my job, my finances, etc. They had no right to do that. read more

I would not recommend this place at all! Their lease agreement is not safe practice and leaves the renter with bad situations. I signed a lease with them and the day before I was to move in they called to tell me that they would like to move me to a different apartment than they had offered me when I signed the lease. The other apt was on the back facing south side overlooking the interstate instead of my poolside pick. I told them I preferred to keep the one that I had signed the lease with and they then went on to automatically cancel my lease without any explanation as to why. Later they said they could cancel my lease at their discretion for any reason they choose. So if you plan to live here DO NOT move out of your current residence or you will be left homeless like me. The two people running the front office put on a fake facade of caring but they will not help you they are only there to take your $ and could care less about the situation they place you in. My wife and I were very pleased living in this place. The staff were very nice and quick to help. We did enjoy the pool, gym, inside parking and recycling and garbage pick-up inside the building just outside our appt. door. My grand-children love the hot tub. We were able to use a nice big room to receive family and friends beside the main office for a fairwell reunion with a cator at a reasonable price. All the staff were very friendly. If it wasn't for the fact that we will have our own house beside my daughter's family and be close to the grand-children, I would of stay in Kay's Crossing appt. for a very long time. Because it is either one or two bedrooms appt. the place is more quiet since you cannot have people with a lot of kids. The train station is just beside the building so if you work in Salt Lake like we did, it was very nice to travel by train and not stuck in traffic on highway 15. Everything is near when you have shopping to do like Winco, Walmart, Sam's Club, Home Depot etc... ; no need to lawn the grass or shovel the snow. If you want an easy life, this is the place. read more

I lived at Kay's Crossing for 2 years and loved it! Jake, Larissa and staff are amazing. The garage was a plus. Not having to battle frost on the windshield in the winter was the best. Also I felt so safe living there. Going from the garage right to the elevator made me feel very secure. Access to I-15 and Frontrunner was also a bonus. The pool area, workout facility and clubhouse was another bonus. I will miss not living there. Great memories and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for the best in Layton! read more
