Although sometimes, they do not seem to have any etiquette when pulling up to the beaches on the island. The take the whole beach, so no one else can access the shoreline. It is a heck of a lot easier to move a Kayak than to manoeuvre a boat. I have personally seen this on numerous occassions. If East Coast Outfitters is reading this, please remember, some people lived here long before you started your business here. Please respect this, so everyone can enjoy the great outdoors, share the beach line, don't hog!

They have races, events, socials, and are great with the overall customer service at the marina. There is a real production when the boats are taken out of the water at the end of the season, I have seen this boat on the trailer, then lifted by the crane, I have to give credit to the man who operates the crane, one slight movement of the hand and everything can go wrong. Overall they are very happy with this Yacht Club.

They have great staff, great selection at the bar for post race enjoyment. Weekly races, run by the club, as well as many weekend races. Always very professional, for what we call "beer can racing". They have a wonderful Junior sail program, for the kids, and offer a Learn to Sail every year for Adults, who are looking to get into keel boat sailing. And what a view of St. Margaret's Bay!

My boyfriend Mark, has his annual work Christmas party here every year and so far i've been extremely impressed! There's a massive wrap around deck overlooking the harbour, open bar with extremely accommodating bartender, a tv room for kidlets, and they even allow fireworks to be launched off the beach in front of the club! Beautiful club! I hope i'll have the opportunity to sail here at some point!

The equipment and facility are well kept and clean (which is a major perk), and the staff are friendly, but one of the major problem is the price. It can get pretty expensive if you are planning on riding for awhile. Prices are set for blocks of laps and blocks of 5 laps only last about 10 minutes, which left me disappointed after my turn was up. Hot Hint: There are opportunities for group and party rates, just call ahead to reserve a time.

The rink was not crowded when we got there in the early afternoon on a Saturday, which was nice for my guy to learn. The facility is small, cramped, dark and dingy. People are getting hurt and being told to "skate it off" it just isn't the right size facility, and the painted floor is horrible. Save your money and wait to skate the oval or go to one of the arena skates offered. The vibe is off at the roller dome and they are missing the big picture, The owners are arrogant and refuse to collaborate with the already established rollerskating community. I like the Cycling route for two reasons: Crystal Crescent Beach is a great stop along the route…read moreand it's close to the city so I don't have to cycle through many city miles and traffic to get on the route. If you want to train hills, this is the route for you. Purcells cove road offers a certain brutality that I love when it comes to cycling routes. There are section of one good hill after another with some longer grueling hills along the way. The rest of the ride is really a walk in the park compared to the Purcells cove road section so if you want to avoid hills take the Herring cove road instead of the Purcells cove road turn off, up form the Rotary. Traffic is busy near the city and Purcells cove road is definitely less busy and has section of marked bike trails. The shoulder is fair most of the way but get bad in the Sambro road section which is car greedy and actually meets the line in places. I recommend taking a chunk of the road in the Sambro because some of the locals there have no respect for cyclists. Take caution! This is an experienced riders only route because of this fact. It helps a lot to be able to ride faster since cars tend to give you more respect being a moving object relative to them. There is a well stocked store at the turn-off for Crystal Crescent beach so you can always fuel up here for the return ride. If your out for a more leisurely ride you can find a number of places to relax, especially on Purcells cove road, but the Sambro side has a few lakes along the way. If you wanted to explore the area you can easily add 10-15K to you ride going in and out of little villages and side routes and Crystal Crescent has walking trails along it's shoreline including a walk past the infamous nude beach. Don't let the name entice you though. It is quite easy to see from a safe distance that it's inhabitants are mostly overweight older guys who had leather tanned hides....Yuck! If you are a guy alone, walk past the nude beach you will likely meet up with creepy men who work out far too much, looking for male companionship. I recommend either walking with friends or taking the other walking trail on the other side of the beach, left if you are facing the water. If you go this way, you will eventually come to a little beach all your own where you can do your own nude sun bathing....in private. Such are the treasures of our province, there for you to enjoy!
