I was in the office for exactly 45 minutes!? What?! They are THE BEST. THE BEST! Asked for their super soft toothbrushes and the lady gave me THREE! I was given a bill for $700+ and was told (rudely) that my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure. I contacted my insurer directly and my actual bill amounted to $50. This was only one of many unpleasant interactions with the office. Their manner in dealing with patients over insurance payments, appointments, etc. is so unhelpful and the information provided is full of mistakes. In addition, my new dentist's front office staff mentioned they have had contentious exchanges over obtaining patient records. I understand someone having a bad day, but this is an ongoing problem in their office. I want to believe the managing dentist is not aware of how some of the front office staff treat patients and . If they were aware, I would think they would provide their personnel with training in customer relations. I will not be back.

So just to update you all on the saga that is my cavity fillings, we actually broke the cavity…read morefillings up into three visits since technically they were in three different parts of my mouth (I know, I know). Dr. Michele is just as skilled in speed with filling cavities as her father. I feel like I wait longer for an oil change than it takes for them to fill a cavity here. Dr. Michele takes care to make sure the filling is done well, and suggests that if for any reason it doesn't feel right to come back in to get it shaped better to my bite. The numbing process is pretty quick (though you can do the gas, I prefer not too). The only thing I will mention is that numbing of the bottom jaw does take longer to wear off than the top and you should probably clear your schedule for about 3/4 hours due to debilitated speaking abilities while today's top jaw filling, I went to a meeting less than an hour after with minor speech impediments...though water did dribble out of my mouth at one point. C'est la vie. Another note to be aware of is that insurance may not cover natural colored fillings, so just make sure to ask (which they made sure to inform me about before my procedures). 1 more cavity to go! Otherwise, everything has been as great as going to the dentist can be!

Their website looked trustworthy and professional--not too flashy. We were able to schedule an appointment immediately and subsequently received extremely friendly and expert care. I underwent several examinations and was able to have the molar treated that very same day by Dr. Hayley Line and her assistant, Shelley. The rest of the practice staff (I didn't catch all their names) were also all very caring and kind, doing their utmost to explain everything as clearly as possible and guide me through the process. I wholeheartedly recommend The Garden Dentist, Dr. Hayley Line, and everyone working there to anyone looking for a good, reliable dentist in New Orleans. Thank you, Garden Dentist. After seeing my son go thru that, the last thing on my mind is his balance. At the very least just hang up, when someone tells you their son is in the hospital. Or how about a "hope he feels better".

I have waited too long to leave this review. I went there 4 or 5 times for cleanings both their…read more"regular" and "deep" cleanings. I found the staff friendly and thorough but I have serious issues with their business and billing policies. They encouraged me to have deep cleanings every several months. I had had this procedure at my last dentist and it was really intense. They cleaned every tooth all the way around below the gumline. Here at this practice, I'm told it's random based on need. Here's the problem. They bill you by the quadrant whether it's one tooth or 4 teeth. So, they could clean 4 teeth and you could be charged $600. This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. I'm still angry about it months later and will never go back. Their regular cleanings are fine. Although, Dr Soileau is quite rough and clumsy. The hygienist is better. I've had better and worse but their deep cleanings don't take any longer and aren't any more thorough and feel like a complete scam. I wrote Dr Soileau a letter and received a patronizing reply not really directly addressing the issue. The first two deep cleanings I had were 1/2 this money. The first time it was under $300 or so and the next a lot more. I asked about it and they adjusted it just like that. Seemed random but I let it go. They didn't explain it. When I first showed up there for a general exam they didn't tell me it was a cleaning based on how the hygienist felt that day. They gave me a set price. Get your story straight! I think they are fishing with your insurance company for the most money they can get. My insurance covers little so I ended up paying almost $600 the last time. I called to ask for an adjustment and was dismissed. Bye bye forever.

During a routine extraction, Dr. Soileau accidentally damaged a nerve in my face causing Bell's palsy and permanent damage. For months I could not speak clearly and half of my face was paralyzed. I'm a tour guide, being able to communicate is essential to providing an income. I lost a lot of work. To be fair, Dr. Soileau referred me to an ENT and seemed concerned, although she accepted no responsibility. It seemed pretty obvious that the palsy and the nerve damage were linked to to Dr. Soileau; in fact this is what I was told by several doctors. I've paid thousands for an extraction and two cleanings. There was a $400+ balance remaining and I was told by several sources that I should communicate with Dr. Soileau's office about paying the balance when the error during the procedure ended up costing thousands of dollars in lost income. I just received a nasty "collection notice" in the mail. Not once was there acknowledgment of the incident, or the fact that my face still (7 months later) has nerve damage and partial paralysis. Sorry, not paying the Doctor that botched a simple extraction and cost me a lot of money. I'll be sending her a bill from an attorney. You've been warned.
