    Green Soul - hausgemachte Limonade

Naturally I turned to Yelp while compiling my list, but I almost overlooked Green Soul, which opened in May 2015 and hadn't yet been added. Luckily Happy Cow had it listed, and so after checking out the menu, we decided to go there for dinner. The restaurant has a limited menu: there are five mains, along with a changing daily special, plus four appetizers and three desserts along with the option of ice cream. We ended up ordering the homemade lemonade: one with lemon ginger and one with lavender lemon. The former was a bit spicy and the second was very refreshing. They were also served with some bread and olives. For our meals, we got the seitan gulasch (with spätzle and salad) and the Green Soul burger with sweet potato fries. Both of them were really good. The former, which the fellow had, could have been improved (he said) with some onions and perhaps soy yogurt served with the entree. I enjoyed the fries and the mayo dip (and I normally am not into mayo with fries), and the "bun" was really tasty, though it fell apart a bit. If I were to change the burger I would make it fall apart less easily, and maybe throw in an avocado. But that's my personal preference. Finally, we ended our meal with dessert: chocolate ice cream with chocolate pieces for me, and vanilla tonka bean with waldmeister cream on top. In total, our bill came to less than €35. As for the building itself, it's done in a shabby chic style, with a lot of personal touches. The outside seating consists of metal tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk like a French cafe. Inside it's spacious, with a seating area to the right, a bar area straight ahead, and a sitting room area to the left, where people can relax on chairs or loveseats and talk or enjoy a drink. Upstairs is more seating, and there's also a children's room, with toys, and space to change diapers or feed your child. And of course there's the service; it was (mostly) prompt and very friendly all evening long. While there are still a few things to iron out (it is only three months old), Green Soul is already a lovely spot with a lot of realized potential, and worth checking out if you're looking for food prepared with a bit extra attention to detail.

Jeepney - Shady outdoor seating in the back (something that is hard to find in this neighborhood).

They have wifi, bathrooms, and outdoor seating (not only in the front, but in the back of the building where there is shade). I have to admit that I didn't like the iced latte I tried, but I think that's just because I'm an American and still not used to the milk here. The cappuccino, however sat with me very well. It had a nice, subtle flavor with smooth texture that I'm sure to be ordering again. If you're looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to hang out then I'd definitely recommend Jeepney! P.S. I'm excited to try their breakfasts, which I have heard good things about

Best service with a smile every single time, and i thinkI'vee been there once a week for about 2 months or so. As a vegan, i dont really have too many options when it comes to desserts (and, sadly, no options when it comes to "real" food or breakfast during the weekend), and the desserts are always the same- a vegan brownie, carrot cake and a Philippian dessert which looks like a flat cake. Good size coffee mugs for a fair price. Non-vegan summer drinks are beautifully served in huge gars with ice cream and whipped cream and look just great, kind of American style. They also have home made chai and home made cupcakes (but again, nothing vegan). Seating is indoors, in a small but lovely and hommy, inviting space, outside on the street (only one small table) and lots of space in the backyard. Can book it for special occasions if you'de like. Not the cheapest place but i much rather support hard-working, kind individuals instead of a global corporation.
