The place looked amazing from the outside, but I could not really go in. It looks clean and the persona was very nice when I left him. However, the reason for my bad rating is rather a lack of transparency and empathy. I tried to book a place for the end of December but never got a reply from them. Then I called directly and they said they might still have spots available for Christmas but they recommended I bring the cat along for a few trial days and suggested me to bring him the next week as they didn't have many cats that week. I then booked the appointment online and within 24 hours I received confirmation for July but not for December. This request was never accepted and when I brought the cat I asked why it wasn't accepted and told me that it didn't have time but that she will do it later. Our cat has only been to a cattery once and only for two trial days (also not such a great experience). He is a young kitten of only 14 months and is not used to cat pensions. When I picked him up today I arrived and he would not stop crying, she showed him his pet transporter and he went in happily and never stopped crying until we left (and of course as soon as the car started because he hates the car). Rather than getting feedback on his behavior, whether he was happy, whether he was eating, playing, or getting on well with the other cats (given his reaction after being picked up, and that he's lost 300 grams, I'd say no). The first and only thing I heard was that she couldn't have him for Christmas because she thought he peed all over the place. She said several pillows have urine and also several stains on the floor. I saw a stain on the floor and she was also holding two pads covered in urine. To which my first reaction is to worry about where to leave him for Christmas. But then I think, he never does that at home unless the litter box isn't clean and there is nobody there to clean it. I thought maybe he's not used to sharing the litter box with other cats, but not even that because he was with another cat of our friends and they used the same litter box. He only pees twice a day, how can he pee everywhere so often. Then I can't help but think that they just had to fill the vacancies in July and used me. In the other cat pension house we have not received such feedback. If he peed outside of the litter box, she should know better than me that cats can react like this when they change their environment, specially because it is a cat pension. But honestly I don't think our cat can pee as much as she mentioned in the two days he was there. As a customer, I am also concerned about taking my cat to a place where they actually care about his welfare and if that actually happened have more patience for cats. read more
