Kat is a patient and compassionate teacher who provides ample support with my daughter's piano journey. My daughter was initially shy and apprehensive about learning and now she's gotten very confident with Teacher Kat's guidance. Kat works well with kids and lays it all out for parents to support them with their learnings. I highly recommend her! Below is a review of my 6 year old: She's a great teacher. She helps us with playing the piano. She makes learning the piano fun. read more

Hey have to admit I was a little uneasy about taking piano online. I was under the impression I needed to have hands-on instruction, but I was 1000% wrong. Katz Keys is AMAZING from day 1. We worked through multiple songs and we was amazed at my progress. She has two online resources that are great. She is responsive to emails and txt when your in a pickle. I learned about seven songs from Jan to July. She has student contest and an end of season recital. There may be one for the winter, I'm not sure because I started with n Jan. Katz is so sweet, encouraging and upbeat. There were many I thought I sounded looking je cats scratching on chalk board, but she removes ALL self doubt. I'm glad I chose to begin my lessons with her and you will be too!!! read more

Kat is a kind, passionate teacher who invests fully in her students. And she plays like a dream! As a professional singer who has never been able to accompany myself on piano, it's such a joy being able to play and sing, and it has enhanced my musicianship to expand my knowledge of music theory& improvisational skills. More than anything else, Kat had me playing songs from the very first week! I have a solid rep already, and it's only been 6 months. The growth is fast and notable. I also love the format of group lessons (was skeptical at first) because I've learned so much from the other two women in my group, and it's nice to have a fun creative community that meets each week. I cannot recommend Kat enough! read more

I was skeptical about online piano lessons but discovered how convenient and effective it was especially with the way Kat teaches and has seemlessly set up the video/audio. All you need is your computer, iPad or iPhone, can use even an electronic keyboard and you're ready to go! She's amazing with kids but this review is to also say how amazing she is as a teacher for adults. As an adult student, learning with her has rekindled my love for piano. She is classically trained but with this new teaching technique allows you to pick up a new song virtually every week! (Same for kids). It brings such a joy and fun to learning that is different than any classical way I've learned in the past. There is a practice app that helps hold you and your kids accountable with practice but also easily allows you to access your materials and has gamification incentives to keep you motivated as well. There's online open mics, performances and group practice lessons too so you're really in a lovely community. She adds on extra learning aside from the program too to make it her own than anyone else simply teaching this method. She is a teacher who is not only amazingly talented as a pianist herself, is a thoughtful/thorough/motivating as well as a passionate and caring teacher. I cannot recommend her and her studio enough. read more

Kat my daughter started zoom piano lessons during the start covid. It was the perfect thing to get her active at home. After the first lesson she knew how to play a song! With both hands. Not a little baby song either. I was so impressed. My daughter kept practicing because the method that Kat taught was a fun and easy way for her to learn. With every lesson she gets better and better. 100% would recommend Kat as a piano teacher for both kids and adults. read more

Kat is amazing! She was super friendly and fun. I wasn't sure what to expect over zoom but, my daughter actually learned really quickly. I was really impressed. read more

We absolutely love Kat! She is teaching my boys piano even though we live on the other side of the country. She teaching them virtually with live on-line lessons. She is very creative and goes above and beyond for her students. Her heart is really in her work. My kids enjoy their lessons and even love practicing because she has made piano such a joy to learn for them. I am so happy we decided to take lessons. It has really brought music into our household daily in such a fun way! read more

Kat of Katz Keys is an amazing teacher. In just a few months of her innovative teaching model and I'm playing dozens of songs. Actually I was able to play songs after my first lesson! Kat is fun, patient, and positive! I highly recommend Katz Keys for piano lessons for anyone wanting to learn or improve. read more

TAKE LESSONS WITH KAT! First off this woman does everything, if you are an artist of any kind you can relate to her. I got a special promo deal where I got several free lessons to start with, and I learned so much! I noticed improvements in my piano playing almost right away. She is extremely organized and responsive, you can rely on her to be there with you for all of your questions along your journey. She has several applications to go along with your lessons that will set you up for success and keep you accountable to practice which is my biggest struggle. I've never encountered her song-learning method and it really takes a lot of pressure off and makes learning the piano as an adult again super fun! I would recommend Kat to anyone trying to learn piano, no matter your age, background or level. She is the real deal! read more

Kat is a very encouraging teacher! I haven't practiced piano seriously in over 12 years and decided to try the free classes. Only wish I did it sooner! I never learned through this method before but I feel like it's the first time I got to "play" on the piano rather than learning strict sheet music; which is obviously beautiful and fun, but I was surprised how many mind blowing moments she gave me in just 4 classes. Like I said, only wish I had started sooner. read more

I cannot say enough about this beautiful, sweet, talented woman! She is so great at what she does and is making a huge difference in my daughters life, while living on the other side of the country! Thank you, Kat! :) read more

I sighed up my daughter for piano lessons with Kat and so far we are having a great quality time when she gets to learn a new skill and I get to watch her grow and discover. My daughter is only 6 but she has already learned 3 songs and got to wright her own! With Kat's guidance, patience and clear directions my daughter is able to understand what needs to be done . The best part is that Kat uses the method that allows the student to improvise and create. Can't wait for more lessons! read more

Katz Keys is by far the best experience my son has had with a music teacher. We have had various instructors through the years from piano to drumming, but Kat is the most loving, caring, thoughtful, creative and personal teacher we have ever had. She is a professional artist and has achieved excellence as a professional dance performer and classically trained concert pianist. Everything she does, she goes beyond the average person. She truly challenged my now 7 year old son who started with her at 6 years old at the beginning of the year. I had no idea how many songs he was going to learn and play well. He even was able to close his eyes and play the "Avengers Theme" this week. I am just AMAZED! But seeing how all the students achieved in the virtual recital today from around the world in just months, is just OUTSTANDING! She works with children and adults... I will be signing up eventually for myself! Thankyou Kat! read more

The moment I heard jayda's voice for the first time, from her first cry and her first hum, I already know that she would be musically inclined. How she can memorize a songs melody even when she cant pronounce words yet and how she can hit the highest note of the song, made us realize that she has a talent for Music. However, we are not able to nurture this talent since we do not know how to teach her in improving her skills. Having time to drive her to classes has been an issue for us due to our work schedule, and thankfully our prayers were answered when a friend of mine sent an invitation for us to check out an online piano class. I was skeptical at first since i am not sure how it will work out, but after few meetings, I cant believe jayda is playing a piece already. I love the unconventional teaching process since I see how jayda is learning faster from it. She was already playing jingle bells piece by christmas which amazed a lot of people how difficult the piece was. Teacher Kat is really amazing in making sure her students understand the movement of their fingers and how it affects the flow of their music. I recommend for your child or yourself to try it out if you really wanted to know how to play the piano, even without music background. read more

Our 8-year-old son has been taking lessons with Kat for over a year now, and we truly appreciate the heart and passion she puts into her students and teaching. First of all, we love the positive values she instills, such as beginning every class with each student sharing what they are grateful for that day. Her style of teaching is patient yet firm, always accompanied by a warm smile, sense of humor, encouraging words and contagious enthusiasm. Also, the teaching technique she uses is unique and effective, as our son has been able to learn quite a good number of songs quickly in a variety of music styles and has confidently participated in several virtual recitals. And for his one-year-of-piano lessons anniversary, Kat gifted him a fun shirt to commemorate the occasion as well as a shareable recording honoring his piano achievements. It was so thoughtful and shows that she is willing to go the extra mile. Kat is truly a gem of a piano teacher (and very talented too!) and such a pleasure to work with! read more

My plan was just to try it out for a little just to expose my kids to making music. We had an old keyboard that was handed down to us that required me to tape down the batteries from the missing lid. We definitely had our share of obstacles along with getting use to Zoom classes. Here we are over a year later rushing home from school to log on. Now both my kids are bickering on who gets to practice first and who's in the lead for points on Mrs Kat's practice app. I'm so thankful for stumbling across that old keyboard and flipping through my phone to find Mrs Kat. It was meant to be! Now when they go to my parents house and play little tunes, it's like Mozart to my parents ears . read more

Kat is a dream. She works with a really user friendly curriculum, but she's also so dedicated as a teacher. Patient, good listener, a true champion of all her students. Incredibly professional and always looking to improve her approach and give you the best experience possible and cater to YOUR learning style. The 4 free classes are no joke! I learned so much that I've actually been applying to other instruments, which is neat. She works with your schedule. She has a dozen resources for every lesson and a practice meter you can use to keep yourself accountable and retain what you learn every week. Honestly, if you've been putting off learning piano but you feel inspired in 2020... I say do it! It's free! And Kat is so freaking kind and passionate about this work. She truly will not pressure you to pay a dime. And then the paid lessons are super reasonable too. Truly a phenomenal exchange. Thank you. read more

We love Ms. Kat! She is not just only a wise, Intune, always prepared piano teacher and artist, but she is ike a close family and friend . I trust her with my 7 year as his first real instrument and music teacher but I also trust her with the emotional and spiritual guidance for my kids. She is a true amazing soul sent by God. If you want a teacher who is gentle yet lovingly firm believing the best for your children, then Kat is your teacher! And she is a wonderful teacher for adults as well. We also really enjoy the Simply Music program she uses. Very hands on. And I love the Tonara App she has us use to upload our songs and videos. Oh and also the best rates in town hands down foe all you get! read more

Ms Kat is absolutely delightful and amazing. I believed virtual piano classes nearly impossible.m, but I stand corrected. I've been trying to learn the piano on my own for a while now but had been struggling with motivation. I was lucky that my friend introduced me to Kat and I started zoom lessons with her during quarantine. Besides being an amazing player herself, she is incredibly kind and has the ability to create an environment that encourages you to grow and trust in the learning process. I think the BEST part for me was the new attitude around piano she gave me. Instead of it being a thing I had to play right, or learn all the technicals, etc, etc.. she helped me see it as a tool of self expression. That attitude shift, alone, makes all the difference for me. I highly recommend taking lessons with Kat. read more

Katz Keys is a wonderful place to hone your piano skills. I was a very basic player when I started lessons and was able improve leaps and bounds only meeting her once a week. She is a very dedicated teacher who definitely cares about her students. I would highly recommend her as someone worthy of investing your time and money into if you are serious about becoming a better pianist. read more

This was my first experience playing piano and Kat's chosen teaching method really made it easy for me! Following the "Simply Music" method of teaching/learning provides an accessible educational approach that I highly recommend and enjoy. Every short 30-minute lesson, I was taught a short song by using different patterns and number combinations. I felt my growth with every lesson. Kat's teaching is transparent and easy to follow for all ages. There are companion materials that make it simple to practice and study on your own time as well. I highly recommend Katz Keys for every single age group! Though I haven't had any other piano lessons or teachers to compare this experience with, I feel that in a short time my growth with Kat has been evident and tangible. If you take lessons with Kat, you will grow as a musician, no matter what your personal goal with piano is. I highly recommend Katz Keys! read more

Kat was offering 5 free classes which a friend referred me to and I initially went in thinking that it would only be something fun to just pass the time during quarantine (which it definitely was fun) but I was surprised at how much I really learned I. That short amount of time. She uses a certain method that I haven't seen anyone use when teaching piano that incorporates creativity and problem solving opposed to just memorizing pieces. I'm eager to get back into the lessons with her and continue learning. This is the only "quicker" method I've seen work for learning piano even for a complete adult beginner. read more
