Even if you don't find anything to your liking in the shop, just the pleasure of walking thru a very historic home that is now an antique shop will give you a warm feeling. The owner is delightful. She is available to help but does not hound you. My husband, who appreciates vintage antiques but not a shopper by any means, enjoyed strolling thru the shop. He is big on history and spoke with the owner about the home. She was so kind to spend time talking to him and giving him a brief history of this being the first home in Katy to have electricity! You'd barely know their separate vendors as it appears as a seamless space with a continuous collection of treasures when you walk in. The layout makes it's very easy and comfortable to browse. You can find adorable vintage clothing, hats, wraps, gowns, shoes and jewelry. Glassware, china, silver, furniture, terrific vintage signs, vintage comics, toys, books, lamps and much more are located throughout this adorable shop. The boutique got a little bit of everything for everyone. The location of the store was strange and I drove right pass it without noticing it until my GPS told me that I passed it. But then again I am new to the area. The old building gives the boutique a reminiscent of old times, very nostalgic. The boutique reminds me of the movie Somewhere in Times. Strangely familiar and I can't quite understand what drawn me to it but I will definitely come back for another visit. Perhaps next time I will come alone so I don't feel rush. The actual gift shop does not charge an entrance fee. They do advertise and charge people an entrance fee when they have their craft fairs. The gift shop itself is actually a converted house. The employees are very nice and helpful. The Red Potato has a lot of every day gifts as well as seasonal stuff. They have items you probably won't find in the mall. The best deal we found was a Lenox cake/knife set we used for our daughter's wedding. It was a really good price. It's a drive out for most, but it's not a bad drive.
