They offer youth: -Drop-in Services -HIV/STD Testing -Medical Care -Counseling -Case Management -Education & Vocation Their locale is in a two-story building within the "loft-looking" area of the Central West End. The ambiance is modern with flat-screen TVs, a lounge, computers with internet access, washer/drying machines to do laundry, showers, board games & more! I hope to see the SPOT be a success within the GLBT community as it has been in Chicago since 2004.

The seats with umbrellas fill up quickly, so if that's important to you, get there when they open. Concession stand is standard, but they do seem to run out of things. Bathrooms are always clean. You're not allowed to eat food in the pool area, only by the concession stand, so don't be surprised if a lifeguard calls you (or your kid) out for having food in the pool area. Highly recommend!

Great for Programs - Gym Facilities Could Use Some TLC…read more I understand that the YMCA's strength lies in its community-centered programming, not just in being a gym--and in that regard, East Belleville YMCA does a great job. From what I observed during my trial membership, they offer excellent programming, especially for children--before and after school care and summer programs are clearly a strong focus, and it's great to see these important needs being met. My main reason for trying the Y was to evaluate whether the $49/month membership would meet my personal fitness needs, particularly in the gym/exercise area. I found a solid range of equipment available for most muscle groups, including multiple sets of free weights, squat racks, and a variety of dumbbells. The only muscle group missing dedicated support was for lateral raises. While the equipment is a bit dated, that's not necessarily a problem if it's well maintained. Unfortunately, some upkeep is needed. For example, several weight selector pins were rusted, making them difficult to use. A simple rust removal and lubrication would go a long way. I also noticed torn padding on some benches and machines, which could benefit from repair or replacement. Small improvements like these would greatly enhance the functionality and make the gym more competitive with traditional fitness centers. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the facility has a positive, community-oriented atmosphere. I'd recommend this YMCA to anyone looking for more than just a gym--particularly families and individuals interested in a wide range of programming and activities beyond fitness alone.

Find a member who can allow you to visit a couple times to enjoy their social quarters which would be a great way to determine if a membership is right for you. Memberships are $60 a year per member. The floors in pool area are covered in hair and very slippery. The kids area pipes that shoot out water didn't work. Overcrowded and adults spraying water toys in the kids area where infants were. I love my neighborhood community center. Located off of 270 highway and Hanley. It just opened…read morepublicly after being closed for 4 years due to pandemic and staff shortages. They opened up with friendly faces of staff and visitors, new equipment , basketball gym, game room and a walking track yay!!!! Residents pricing for a daily visit is $2.00 /annual for the year is $60. Parking is limited at the front of the building but in the garage and back it is ample. Non resident pricing varies. They offer private parties rentals. Exercise classes, open play and activities for kids , tweens, adults and senior citizens. Water park available at second location. Hrs M-Th 8a-9p Fri-Sat 8-5 Sun 1pm-9. I'm on a journey to lose weight so I'll be utilizing this facility regularly.
